Narrow sites & I-80 traffic road noise
Most recent stay was 6/16/16 - I'm "late" in posting my review ~ We camp in a Little Rig “Tear Drop” style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area.

Did get close to restroom/showers ~ right across the road. PROS: Restroom/showers are newer modern look w/full on tiled walls/floors. Good water pressure & hot. Shower stalls are private combined w/changing area a little small but still ok in size w/bench for seating and hooks for clothes/towel. Appreciate the paper towels for clean-up of area after use, some campgrounds have only air dryers. CONS: need rubber floor mat in changing area when exiting shower, a small shelf would be nice for your stuff/ need hooks and shelves at shared sink area all for conveniences that many campgrounds forget.

CONS: all sites are narrow and close together / tight and narrow greenspace barley enough room to use the picnic table / packed in like a can of sardines forget about any reasonable privacy and of course the constant traffic road noise from I-80 is ongoing all night long so typical of many KOA’s. Never could understand why they want to build them so close and in view of the interstate.

Not really a destination type spot. But it is the only RV campground in Laramie unless you want to boondock at some of the Days End (Escapees) spots or about 20 miles out of town to the west or east (Laramie Lakes or Buford/Pole Mountain).

Sites are gravel, 30 or 50 amp rows. Grass strip between the gravel. Clean restrooms and laundry. There is no pool.

The park backs right up to I-80 so there is a fair amount of road noise. Windows closed not bad, windows open not so good.

Solid Verizon signal but speeds weren’t very good. 4mbps/2mbps down/up. Since I saw probably 20+ WiFi Cellular hotspots I wonder if all the folks in the park were overloading the tower(s).

So I knew I needed to be here and therefore upgraded to premium site thinking I might have a bit more space with my site. What did I get for that, my neighbors sewer hose right outside my front door. This on top that the park was not full and therefore they could have easily skipped every other space to accommodate everyone staying in the park. Why, why do private parks, KOA and others, continually just put every trailer side by side when it is not busy??? Please, please, if you are a RV park owner, space the trailers apart if it is available. I, of course realize this is not always possible but please try. This KOA has spaces made for trailers the size of smart cars, they are not wide. Yes I would camp here again if I needed to but would probably not make an effort. The sites at the KOA in Cheyenne were twice this size but no grass.

Yes, you will hear highway noise if your windows are open and quite possibly if they are closed. Bathrooms were clean but the shower stall heights were not made for tall people but otherwise modern and clean.

Clean, friendly and easy access to park our 38 ft 5th wheel in pull thru site 99. Great place for a one night stop. Some might find the road noise from the nearby Hwy an issue, but it didn’t bother us at all. When we arrived we were greeted by two friendly people, one who took us to our site and made sure everything was working properly and told us about how they pick up trash at each site daily. There is wi-fi and cable available, but we didn’t use either. My Verizon came in great there. I would most definitely stay here again. This would a great place for someone that was working in the area. Felt completely safe at this campground too.

Not really a camping place - like an over-night place to stay - no camp fires, not big spots. But, the facilities were very clean, and the staff was friendly and efficient enough. The freeway noise did not bother me - my camper is pretty well insulated. They are in the process of redoing many of the sites. Wifi was excellent.

Stayed here 9/4/2020 to 9/7/2020. If you've been to a KOA before you basically know what to expect here. As others have said, it's great for a stopover. I was in an electric/water hookup site only and used the dump station on the way in. An employee guided me to the dump station and then to the site which was nice. No rinse water at the dump station though which I thought was strange. This is a really nice location to get around Laramie. I actually rode my bike to the Wyoming Territorial Prison which was only a mile or so away. Showers and laundry were both nice and clean. My site didn't have a picnic table or fire ring or anything and was very cramped with my neighbors, but it was only a couple nights so I didn't really care. There is a pretty considerable amount of highway noise here. Overall a great place to dump, fill-up, get propane, and take care of some laundry, as well as check out downtown Laramie.

There is definitely an upside to this park but it is still way overpriced for what you get. We wanted to be away from I80 and were able to get a site away from it for a steep price. The road leading to the park is horrible pothole ridden mess! It would be nice if KOA paid to have the road patched up with all the money the charge for sites. Once we were in the park was fairly nice. The staff was pleasant. The sites are all gravel and rock so everything stays clean. The side of the park that was closer to I80 looked a little more run down and seemed to be full of permies or long term residents. Had great cable TV and good cell coverage and WIFI repeaters all over the park. Laundry was $2.50 to wash and $2.50 to dry. They had about 6 of each machine, but 2 of the dryers were out of order. The park is very close to downtown Laramie and the University of Wyoming which has a beautiful campus. So with this park you kind of have to take the good with the bad if you need to be near Laramie because there is nothing else with full hooks for miles in either direction.

This was basically two parks in one. At the front when you first pulled in it was very clean with nice large spaces and tables, chairs, and fire pits. When we checked in and were shown to our spot it was at the back next to I-80 and extremely close to each other. I felt like I had to stand inside the RV next to us in order to hook up water and sewer. Once I had my slides open you could barely walk between the RV's. There were a lot of long term people in this area with broken down vehicles, junk piled up and one even had a dog run attached to one side of it. I have never understood why KOA does not have rules for their park owners and make them clean up. Is not a place I would not stay again unless I was sure I would have a spot up front were it actually looked like a different park. It rained a lot while we were there so everything was pretty muddy. We camped at Laramie KOA Journey in a Travel Trailer.
