This Good Sam's RV park was located right off the 210 east Loop and Highway 10 east of Lake Charles on Broad Street. There were fast food restaurants and Walgreen's close by. Its a small number of lots but we were able get a pull through. Our only complaint was that it was very close to the 4 lane road and you could hear traffic all hours of the day. Other than that it was clean and neat. We had a man to even help us setup our camper and get us situated.
The check in was fast and easy and loved the coffee and donuts in the office. We loved it at night when we came back from the casinos close by or our relatives house to find the whole park very well lit so we didn't have to use a flashlight or anything.
We stayed there 4 nights from April 18-22, 2018. There were other RV parks in this same area and we tried getting into one of them but they were booked. Easy access in and out of this RV park. We did not use the facilities.

First off, we want to express our sympathy for what the people of Lake Charles are going through. The hurricane devastation is still evident everywhere and is really bad. Were not sure why they haven’t made more progress on cleaning things up but from what we saw, this is a place to avoid right now. We didn’t realize the state of things before we decided to stop there. This park is an example of why current reviews are so important. The parks website is outdated and completely misrepresents this park. The reviews I read made it sound okay. Fortunately, we were just doing a quick, one-night stopover between Biloxi and Conroe, TX.
We rolled in about 5:30 and had it not been so late, we would have rolled back out. However, we’re not sure anywhere else in lake Charles would have been much better. We don’t think the problems at this park are all because of hurricanes though. It looks like years of deferred maintenance. The concrete pads are cracked and full of pot holes. The grassy areas are just weeds and mud, the benches are rotted and the whole place resembles a dump. The only thing that worked were the lamp posts. There are tents filled with used furniture around the office. It’s mostly filled with permanent campers occupied by people who have lost their homes. We didn’t attempt to use restrooms and left as early as we could the next morning. Amazingly, the internet worked great. Lastly, no one in Lake Charles seems to be aware or care about COVID guidelines.

Very simple park with few trees but great for an overnight or short stay if you need to be near Lake Charles. I was warmly greeted during check-in. Sites are full hookup and wifi actually worked with reasonable speeds of about 5 mbps. They are also accommodating to overnighters and provided me an easy access pull through for when I left in the morning. I just gave it a 3 because I found nothing bad nor exceptional to swing a rating either way.
