The park is quiet, has many large trees, the sites are well-spaced and ours was on a level blacktop surface. The water and electric worked well but we did not use their restroom facilities. No sewer but a dump station is provided. There is a nature center where locals come to walk the beautiful trails. The city park is nearby and you can hear people playing in the park but there is a gate that locks for the night so you feel secure. The only negative was some trash and beer and pop cans left around at a few sites that had not been cleaned up. We would come back here if in the area.

The office smelled like stale cigarette smoke, and the guy behind the desk just looked at me until I said "Hi, we'd like to camp here." At which point he was nice enough, and even let us pick our own spot.
We arrived on a Saturday and though the campground was pretty full, we were able to find a private spot in the corner.
Both our campsite and the campground had litter throughout. It is still quite beautiful, it just seems to be neglected by management.
The campground sits next to a stagnant river which is a breeding ground for mosquitos. We never left our door open for too long in an effort to keep them out of our trailer.
We loved the network of trails and wooden walkways that are accessible from the campground, but we found we had to walk really fast to avoid getting bitten.
The campground is secured by a gate with a code, and even though there was a shooting at the park next door during our stay (!) we didn't feel unsafe.

As recommended by the Atchafalaya Welcome Center, we used the dump station here for free. No issues.

We got there after 5 on a Monday May 2018- we picked our a site and loved it. Dropped money in a envelope at the office. Level sites, Our first choice- power was not working, so I ran a drop cord from adjacent site.

We arrived very late and check in was a breeze. We paid using the envelope method left at the front office and found our assigned site. The site was a pull through and was very spacious - the campground was pretty empty but it was a Saturday night/Sunday morning we were there. Showers had very hot water, almost too hot for my kids.. staff came around next morning and was very friendly and welcoming! Great over night stay while passing through.

Arrival in the dark made sites difficult to see, as they are spaced and labeled inconsistently. A few areas are lit up with bright security lights. Narrow winding access roads, overgrown in places. A map of the campground was not available but would have been helpful.
Some sites but not all accommodate big rigs. Electric and water hook up provided. Nice new dump station just outside the campground.
Otherwise a nice quiet stay on a weeknight. Plenty of campsites available.

This campground needs a bit of love.
The sites need re-paving, the bathhouse could use a facelift. The campground could be better maintained. I had to clean out the grill provided and sweep our parking pad. But it was quiet with an occasional train passing in the distance.
The reason for the four-star rating is the Acadiana Park Nature Station. Nice collection of flora and fauna and the boardwalk through the old-growth Live Oaks is wonderful.

This was a very quite park for us in December, only a few campers during our entire stay. Out site was paved and level. The nature center and trails are a great feature. The park could use some sprucing up a bit though. The park has a gate to keep unwanted folks out. Power and water were great, and a newly done dump station at the exit. Watch out for our friends the raccoons. Good TV and phone service.

Access to the park was good. Signage was good. The check in office was closed when we arrived. A notice asked us to find a vacant unreserved site and that an attendant would be by in the morning. There is a locked gate that required an access code. The code was found on a self pay envelope. The interior roads are paved and in fair condition. The sites are paved as well but are very small.
Our site, 35, was a back in that came with 30/50 amp power, water, a decent table and a very poor rusted out fire ring. Not all sites have tables and most are in very poor condition. There is no Wifi but our Verizon Mifi worked well most of the time. Our cell service was good most of the time as well but there were periods when it was spotty. There was a number of OTA TV stations that came in well.
The setting is very nice. The park is right next to the Nature Station. There is a small information booth that is open 9 to 5. There are a few hiking trails and the day use park has a disk golf course. There was very little wild life around. We expected to see some deer, rabbits, etc but we saw none.
There are no services within walking distance but a short drive to the City of Lafayette has all the amenities needed.
We paid $28.00 / night and feel we received good value for our dollar. We would return if in the area again.
