Fairview Riverside State Park Campground

The park is nice and clean (both facilities and the grounds). They have a limit on how long you can stay if you book online for less than a month. Example - dont book 4 days then go ask to add a week. They will tell you no more than 10 days.

They are old school which we didnt mind. Gates are not automatic at night. You have to get out and unchain gate. They check to ensure you park with 2 tires on your paved space, etc. I dont blame them people will tear it up if you let them. So this wasnt an issue for us.

Ground is soft if you are heavy. So be careful when trying to park, etc.

Dont forget to enjoy the park while you are there. Its a beautiful place. Drive to New Orleans is about 1 hour. There is a tool bridge you have to take which is $5 fee.

Fairview-Riverside State Park (Madisonville) is situated beneath a canopy of huge oak trees, where visitors will find numerous picnic tables, as well as a group pavilion, a playground, and comfort stations.The cool, crystal-clear waters of the Tchefuncte River yield bass, bluegill, white perch, and bream near the park area, and channel catfish, speckled trout and redfish where the river meets the lake. Freshwater fishing from the river bank or a boat offers unmatched delights for even the most casual fisherman. Crabbing in the lake and the river is also popular.Otis House, a circa-1880 mansion located within the park, is open for tours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
