“Kitschy roadside statues Paul Bunyan & Blue!”
Come to Klamath and experience this 49-foot-tall statue of Paul Bunyan and the 35-foot-tall Babe the Blue Ox, both of which are visible from Highway 101. Constructed largely of wooden beams, chicken wire and stucco, the current Babe was built in 1950 and the current Bunyan was built in 1961. The original Bunyan was built in 1946 but was destroyed by rain that winter. In late 2007, the 1000-pound, 9-foot-wide head of Babe fell to the ground as a result of rotting materials damaged from rain. The head has since been replaced.
I think there are many of these floating around. It must have been some kind of tourist trend in the 50's or something. There is another one up in the northwest corner of California (near Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park if memory serves).
yeah... this one is definitely in Bemidji, Minnesota, and not Northern California.
I'm sure there are many of these around the US but this is the Original. Go see and see all the amazing tress at trees of mystery. The tram is OK I don't think its worth the extra for the ride, the forest if far better on the ground where you can see candelabra trees family trees the GIANT Brotherhood tree. etc.... It's amazing! Oh and Babe the Bull is anatomically correct, some kids might ask questions.
I loved this stop! It was super busy and very kitschy but entertaining. The gift shop was superb, the free museum was top notch and the kids got ice cream and a pick tire with Paul. There was ample parking for our big rig and tow car. We didn’t do the trees of mystery ride because it was expensive and we felt like we got enough close encounters with the giants on the scenic highway and through the avenue of the giants.
Fun stop, pricey but well worth the money. Fun photo ops with Paul and Babe as he talks.

A fun stop. A little expensive but worth it. Nicely kept trails and the ride on the gondola to the peak/viewpoint was nice!!
Such a great stop! I remember going here when I was a kid. We didn't ride the tram this time but did check out the museum of Indian artifacts from around the United States.
Been here once on the drive through to Oregon. Worth a stop as its a cool amusement. But not much other than a couple really large statues
