Let me start by saying, I’m not outdoorsy. I don’t camp , hike, or do anything in nature. My family wanted to stay here in Moab and I agreed to ‘rough’ it for two nights. Rough it? No way! This was the best stop on our 2550 mile 11 day road trip. The service is better than any hotel. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful- oh! and then there is that king size bed. The best night sleep I’d ever had! We traveled to Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands, Arches and the Grand Canyon. We were there in October but the temperatures were like January. The winds and rain blew through the first night and the freezing temps the second. We snuggled in our beds with the fire going, under a hill or down comforters and my girls on their cots. Best night’s sleep ever. When we planned our trip to Grand Teton, Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore, we knew we had to stay at Under Canvas again. We will be staying 3 nights in Keystone while we visit Mount Rushmore, Deadwood and Custer’s State Park and the Badlands. I’m very much looking forward to a good nights sleep! Oh, the key for me is the bathroom in the tent. I didn’t want to venture outside in the middle of the night so having a bathroom was great even though we showered in the portable showers- it was warmer than in the tent. Best Vacay Ever!
This was our third Under Canvas location and by far my favorite out of the three. The scenery and location was amazing and it felt the tent and amenities it had was better. Staff was great and loved that you can see Mt. Rushmore from the distance from the camp. Will definitely go there again and at this location.
I forgot to leave the stars.
I HATE camping. I pretty much hate anything less than a 3 star review. Call me high maintenance or honest, either way I hate camping.
We choose this place to give our kids an experience and no one was disappointed. It is beautifully laid out, and cozy as can be. They warm wood stove kept us cozy and warm during the thunderstorms that happened every night we were there.
The shower is interesting and mildly warm (but they can adjust it if you need them to)
The first day of a two night stay our kids grumbled, I grumbled, and my significant other grumbled. By the next night my little family was planning their next trip here!
I almost like camping....well I better not get carried away; but I did like this place!
