Great place! Besides the beautiful butterflies flying around you while you are walking, they have two rescued flamingos that are awesome! Also, a bunch of other little animals (look in the streams for all of the turtles). There is ambiance music playing in the background as you walk through, which really adds to the mood....
Remarkable feeling if you are a nature's person! The Key West Butterfly Conservatory allows you to see butterfly species you have never imagined they exist! You can touch them, feel their beauty.
The butterflies are human friendly and they show off allowing you to admire them! Also, the beauty of the plants is worth to be mentioned!!
Generally I would highly recommend this place to someone! Will re-visit with some close friends next time!
When Key West's tropical heat and craziness gets to you, enjoy an hour or two watching butterflies and flamingos. Find a bench then watch and wait as butterflies land on you. The enclosure is not particularly large but it's still a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. I used the Old Town Trolley as transportation to and from the butterfly conservatory.
My daughter and I spent a very fun hour hanging out with the butterflies, birds, fish and turtles. Lots of fun for kids and adults. The flamingos are a hoot and the butterflies are everywhere!!! Go if you get a chance.
