“Enjoy our exceptional wines”
Kerrville Hills Winery is located at the top of a hill on a 30-acre ranch. The winery and tasting room incorporate the footprint of the original homestead. In the past several years, we’ve been working daily to craft a selection of inaugural edition wines and create a fun, relaxing and inviting location to taste them. Wayne Milberger’s family has been involved in agriculture since he was 8 years old. Wayne has always been interested in wine and wine grapes, and attended his first Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association conference in 1981. Wayne moved to Kerrville for a drier climate in 2004 with his wife and family and began pursuing his long-term interest in wine making. Wayne wants Kerrville Hills Winery to be a fun place for people to come to enjoy exceptional wines. We’re proud to craft wines that are at equally at home at wine competitions and lazy days enjoying Hill Country views. We presently offer three wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Blanc Du Bois. The Cabernet and Merlot wines are made from Lake County, California grapes (High Valley Appellation). These grapes are the product of ideal growing conditions: grown in red volcanic soil on a steep hillside at a 2000 foot elevation overlooking Clear Lake (which helps moderate the daytime and evening temperature). After harvesting, the grapes are shipped in a refrigerated truck, and destemmed and crushed at the Kerrville winery. The Cabernet and Merlot wines are aged in French oak and American oak barrels at the winery. The Blanc Du Bois is made from Texas grapes grown in the rich calcareous soils of Brenham, Texas. Our Blanc Du Bois was processed in stainless steel tanks, without oak barrels, to keep its crisp fruit flavors.
