“one of the most important Latino leaders of the 21st century”
Widely recognized as the most important Latino leader in the United States during the twentieth century, César E. Chávez led farm workers and supporters in the establishment of the country's first permanent agricultural union. His leadership brought sustained international attention to the plight of U.S. farm workers, and secured for them higher wages and safer working conditions
As this became a National Monument in 2012, the visitors center is BRAND NEW. The grounds, garden, and grave site of Cesar Chavez are small, but impeccably managed. The visitors center was lack-luster in its information. My husband and I both left asking our self a lot of questions that the exhibits simply did not explain. Probably only worth a stop if you are severely interested in Cesar Chavez.
Pleasant site a little off the beaten path, but we'll worth a stop. Comprehensive history of Chavez's life and work; as well asa beautiful garden/ fountain to take a contemplative break.
