Spanning 300 feet over I-80, immerse yourself in the stories of the travelers on the trails, rails, roads and more from 1840 to today in under an hour.
Its like a wax museum with hand held speakers. The place reminded me a lot like hanging out at Bass Pro shops without merchandise. If you are hard of hearing the handsets are hard to hear over ambient noiseand other people's speakers. I wish they had it so you could read more. There were few relics from history, and it just seemed lacking for me. We went through the whole museum in a hour.
We were so impressed by the interactive self guided tour and loved the cute gift shop! When we made this stop on our road trip we had no idea we were in for such a fun experience! You have to stop here if you ever get the chance.
Well worth the stop! There are some free activities outside as well as a paid interactive history exhibit inside the archway. The history tour is probably one of the best I've seen in my travels- including all the educational ones in grammar school!! It's one of those unique experiences that engage children and adults alike. I recommend you budget the time and cost into your trip.... AND THEY HAVE SQUISHY PENNIES- BONUS!
We are on a road trip to Philly and stopped off here, lots of fun and got some geocaching in as well, very nice place for a walk and enjoy the park like setting.
High quality and lets you start to get used to the altitude going west!
