“over 100 movies filmed here!”
We look forward to your visit to Frontier Movie Town and the Little Hollywood Movie Museum in beautiful Kanab, Utah. With over 100 movies and many TV series filmed here since 1924, Kanab has been universally recognized by the film industry as Little Hollywood. Kanab's hotels and restaurants have hosted and entertained many of the most famous movie stars and directors. The "old timers" around town are always eager to enchant visitors with personal stories of working and socializing with the biggest names in the movie business. Many of the old western sets used in the Little Hollywood movies have been lovingly preserved in our free museum. The museum is located in a grove of lush cottonwood trees directly behind our fully stocked Native American and "made in USA" gift shop. You are sure to enjoy the immersive experience of our comprehensive museum. As you walk through the movie sets, you will appreciate the fabulous illusions the film makers brought to the silver screen.
Since I grew up on Westerns (especially Josey Wales), I was looking forward to this stop on my roadtrip the entire time. Just standing in the house that was a focal point in the Outlaw Josey Wales was something I'd only dreamed of. They also had the barn and several other sets from other Westerns. Not to mention...it's free! You HAVE to stop here.
Free museum of old movie sets with about a 10 min video explaining some of the sets and a little bit of the history of cinema in the town. The sign says "Little Hollywood Museum" it does say Frontier Movie Town really small on the sign that's in the parking lot but if you see the large white horse and cowboy statue that's the right place.
open everyday 9-5!! not open until 9pm. I got here at 5:10 and it was closed
Neat little stop if you're already traveling in this direction. Free admission.
This was a fun little stop on our drive from Page, AZ to Las Vegas, NV!
Fun stop if you pass Kanab. They could maintain the place a bit better but, still worth the stop if you want to have a western movies intro
This would be amazing for a true western fan! Not knowing much about the genre, I still enjoyed the sets. The bathrooms were very clean! Pro-tip: there is a horse that you can mount for a photo op - DO NOT DO IT IF IT IS HOT. Seriously. You'll toast your buns.
We had fun here, my mom was on road trip with us and it was great to here her tell us all stories as we went through. This place has seen better days but it was a fun stop to stretch and good off. Plan on 1-2 hours here. There is a nice rock shop next door too.
Definitely something fun to do if you are in the area! Especially for free :)
Great free stop full of cool old stuff! Little video help the kids appreciate the history. Fun photo spot. Be sure to stop in at the rock shop in front too!
