We came on the great treasure accidentally while just driving around site-seeing. The ;park' is indeed the old run-way. On the beach side is a GREAT sandy beach, with nice picnic tables, a covered area, rest room & drinking water. On the other side of the run-way is a HUGE and beautiful garden with a walking/riding trail meandering thru it. The garden runs almost the whole length of the old run-way & is the result of volunteers hundreds of hours of work; both initial & ongoing maintenance. VERY worth seeing, resting in and strolling through... Bruce Sr & Judy.
