“landmark 1860 lighthouse”

Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum offers climbing tours to the top of the landmark 1860 lighthouse and a waterfront history Museum in a restored WWII Navy building known as “Station J”. Indoor exhibits tell diverse stories of over 5,000 years of human habitation in and around the Jupiter Inlet and Loxahatchee River. Stroll along the brick walkways to discover the restored 1892 Tindall Pioneer Homestead exhibit, the 100-year old Pennock Plantation Bell, native plants and habitats, and the Keeper's Deck and Workshop under an historic ficus tree. Our Museum Gift Shop and Sweet Shop producing our own Lighthouse Fudge, will satisfy discriminating shoppers and provide great reading material, treats and souvenirs for visitors. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum offers LENS Programs (Lighthouse Education & Natural Sciences), including: Hike Through History, Lighthouse Chickee Chats, Lighthouse Kids Explorers Club, Lectures, and Sunset & Moonrise tours. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum also accommodates group tours throughout the year, including adult tours, schools, and summer camp groups. Weddings, Proposals and special events are conducted throughout the year and provide unique access and once-in-a-lifetime memories to the public. Through a lease with the US Coast Guard, the Society is solely responsible for the maintenance and public tour operations of the Jupiter Light. The public is invited to help us preserve the historic lighthouse. Proper conservation and repair of this 1860 structure, museum collections management and natural history education is vital. Your membership is a commitment to our treasured landmark & heritage.

This historical place is simply fascinating. The lighthouse and its history; the trees, and just the tranquil aspect of its location. Good way to spend a calm quiet Sunday. Read more
