“this retired math teacher built a castle!”

"Junction City's most fascinating attraction is in the back yard of Don and Glenda Kracht. For 15 years, Don has been building a castle and moat in his backyard. It is still a couple of years away from being finished, but it is quite impressive. There are bridges, turrets, a bell tower, fireplace, hot tub, waterfall, fountains, cannons and a dungeon. There is even more than you see in these photos. Much of the stone came from a home that was built from local limestone in the 1920s. Don & Glenda Krache welcome visitors to their castle by appointment. It is even used for an occasional wedding and Don fires one of the cannons at the end. But contact them in advance of coming this is at their home.I think that Don must like to move from one project to the next. There are several areas of the Kracht Castle where work is currently being done. He has more time to spend on the project now, since he has retired from being a math teacher in Junction City." -http://kansastravel.org/krachtcastle.htm
