“wrap around, stadium style seating”
Route 66 Raceway, notable for its wrap-around, stadium-style seating, hosts drag racing events, car shows or Demolition Derbies (at the dirt oval) almost every weekend from April to October.
Route 66 Raceway is the first True Stadium of drag racing. Founded in 1998 by nine local entrepreneurs, the NHRA-affiliated, quarter-mile drag strip is now fully owned and operated by the International Speedway Corporation and is sister track to Chicagoland Speedway, a 1.5-mile, D-shaped tri-oval that annually plays host to NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series, IndyCar and ARCA events. Route 66 Raceway annually hosts weekend ET Bracket Series racing, NHRA Jr. Drag Racing, NHRA Lucas Oil Series and NHRA Full Throttle Series professional drag racing events. The Route 66 Raceway property also includes a half-mile dirt oval track.
(Featured track/location for 2014 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing)
Something going on literally every weekend from monster trucks to demo derbies to actual drag racing. Track facilities are simple but nice and clean. Nice flat track for going good and fast.
I love it
