ArborTrek Canopy Adventures at Smugglers' Notch offers eco-adventure activities ranging from serene to extreme. Zip Line Canopy Tour. Soar thru stands of eastern hemlock, white birch, and sugar maple on more than 4,500 feet of zip lines, cross suspension bridges, rappel from trees, take in breath-taking mountain views from tree platforms high in the forest canopy and learn about the natural history and ecology of the region on Vermont’s first zip line canopy tour. Fully guided. Requirements: 70 to 250 lbs., 8 years and older, good to moderate health. Year-round. Reservations required. Treetop Obstacle Course. Climb, crawl, jump, dash, balance, zip and swing through the forest on more than 50 elements including wobbly bridges, balance beams, log swings, ladders, zip lines, and more. Following a thorough ground school, participants can choose from 5 courses ranging from easy to extremely difficult. Children ages 4 to 7 can complete the first 22 obstacles on the Apple Creek Course. Those who are 70 lbs and can reach 66 inches standing flat-footed may also access the Back Forty Course Area. On-course supervision is required for youth, ages 12 years and younger. All participants wear a full-body harness, helmet, and smart-belay connector to ensure 100% connectivity while above the ground. Semi-guided. Reservations recommended. Climbing Adventure. Test your courage and climbing prowess on a series of rock walls, vertical obstacles, and tree climbs. A variety of challenges for young children and athletic adults. The Climbing Adventure can be completed as a lone conquest or added to the Zip Line Canopy Tour or Treetop Obstacle Course at a deep discount. Adventure-Based Team Building. A variety of half-day and full-day adventure-based team building options are available to school, youth, and community groups as well as adult professional and corporate work teams. Programs range from purely recreational to instensely developmental.
