“best quality baked goods in the area”
Since the first Ecklof in our family moved here from Sweden, baking has been a family tradition. Ecklof Bakery began in 1956 and was one of the first businesses located in the location that is now the Southside Plaza on Foote Ave. in Jamestown. Owned and operated by Dick Ecklof, the bakery soon became a staple for the community on the south side of town. Bringing with him traditional recipes and creating some of his own, he put together a full service scratch bakery that provided the best quality baked goods in the area! A testament to his dedication to the quality of his products is his very own recipe Ice Cream Bar cookie, most commonly known as the "Pink Stripe." Every child that entered the bakery recieved a free Pink Striped cookie to snack on while Mom, Dad or Grandma shopped in the store. To this day, the Pink Striped cookie is our biggest seller and it is a favorite with just about every member of our community.
