“halfway between Chicago and Mount Rushmore”
With easy access to I-90, this KOA makes a perfect stopping point, halfway between Chicago and Mount Rushmore and only a half-day's drive to the Badlands or Wisconsin Dells. Choose a tent area with grills, a one- or two-room Camping Cabin or a long, level pull thru site. There's even a corral for your horse. LP gas is available. Enjoy seasonal veggies in the camp store, the pavilion and free wireless Internet. The heated pool, volleyball, horseshoe pits, playground and mini golf keep campers entertained - along with hayrides and ice cream socials. Walk next door and pick your own fruit at the Red Apple Orchard. This KOA is close to great fishing and waterskiing lakes, car races, golf courses and restaurants. You can even have meals delivered right to your site. New! Check out the huge fenced doggie park. Pool: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 108 feet. Your hosts: Frank & Melinda Christianson and their awesome crew!
Right off expressway which makes it convenient but significantly less like camping. Close to grocery store. Friendly staff and VERY clean. Small historical town located nearby that we are going to check out. Love on site laundry!
This is a very basic KOA, very efficient, clean, and well maintained. Office was a fun visit and staff was very nice. Access roads are wide and easy. Sites are full-hookup and very long. Didn't unhook tow. The sites are wide with shade trees each has picnic table and fire ring. Received many channels over antenna. Was unable to get on wi-fi.
There is a very nice pool and adjoining picnic shelter, also a kids playground and mini-putt golf. Our dog loved the huge dog run.
The bathrooms are typical KOA but well maintained and very clean. Showers are also clean and comfortable. Obviously it was all cleaned frequently.
This is a very well maintained park, the few permanents are on the perimeter and very tidy. KOA's are always pricey, this one is worth it.
Best KOA we have been to. The staff was friendly and the bathrooms were very nice and clean!
Very friendly and accommodating. Cleanest campground ever and top notch showers!
This was a great pit stop on our journey west. We came in after hours and it was easy to get settled. The bathrooms were CLEAN and the showers had great pressure and hot water, which is all this road weary mom could ask for ☺️ The kids were happy for wifi of course!
Only stayed here one night on the way to the badlands. The campground was clean, the owners were nice and the sites were well maintained. Not a lot to do but I would stay over here again.
I would for sure stay here again. The sites are well maintained and the little town is great. There isn't a ton to do of course but they have a huge bike trail that goes all around and through the town and it is supposed to be getting connected to an even bigger bike path in the area. The staff was great, super friendly and helpful.
Very nice campground and welcome stop after a day of driving. Staff was friendly and accommodating, park was clean and sites were large. Only stayed one night but was glad we came!
