“Transformed to its former glory”
As we re-open this grand structure, our guests will find it’s been transformed to its former glory; honoring its past while embracing all the modern luxuries. The gold today comes from the vineyards, the jaw dropping beauty of the landscape and the richness of the history of the true old west. The National was built 1862, during the heyday of the gold rush in Amador County when gold was discovered and dreamers became millionaires and has been experienced by travelers and locals for the last 150 years. Come to savor the sumptuousness of our wines, our Wild West history, the treasure of our rivers for rafting or fishing or to simply recharge your spirit in the sanctuary of the hotel with your family, or for a romantic weekend- all your expectations will be exceeded. You will find it all at….The National. Although there are many different ghost stories associated with the hotel, if you wish a haunted room you should apparently aim for rooms 45, 47 or 61. Apparitions, doors slamming, lights that flicker on and off, and other evidence of ghostly activity is often claimed to by numerous guests of the hotel.
