The Shop cafe opened its doors in 2009 inspired by the ideals and experience of Jon Proton and Phoebe Aceto. We’ve been growing ever since. We have been fortunate to receive a strong welcome from the Ithaca community and our mission every day is to give back. One way we do this is by using local vendors as much as possible. We also offer our wall space to a featured local artist every month. And finally, we hope to provide a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for you to take a break, get some work done or just hang out in. We know that everything good comes in small batches, so pretty much everything we offer is made with care, one drink at a time.

The Shop is a great off-the-beaten path Ithaca Coffee Shop. They serve "Gimme!" coffee as well as beans from less popular roasters. All fair-trade and selected carefully. There's an awesome tattoo parlor in the back which gives the place a great vibe, and plenty of tables to go around for the wifi hounds. The music is also less traditional (more soft electronic than acoustic) which can be a nice change of pace for the coffee shop scene. I had some blueberry brew that blew me away and I highly recommend. Although, the barista blatantly discussed that a Cappuccino to stay is the move.
