“the only remaining bathhouse in Hot Springs”
Located On Historic Bath House Row in beautiful downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas, the Buckstaff is the only remaining operational bath house within the boundaries of the Hot Springs National Park and has been in continuous service since 1912. Still today the visitor to our city can experience the natural unadulterated thermal mineral waters, that have been known for centuries for their therapeutic value in the relief of common ailments such as arthritis, bursitis, rheumatic and gouty conditions and other common afflictions. Weary visitors can utilize the same waters and treatments to relax and unwind from a fantastic vacation or business trip.
I had a hard time finding a description of the experience before I went. I did the traditional experience and it was wonderful and inexpensive. They have men and women's floors. You start in a dressing cubby by placing your clothes and belongings in a locker. The attendant wraps you in a sheet and you wait for a bath. The baths are in individual rooms and when the attendant has you all set, she leaves you to soak. When your done, you return to your sheet and relax on a table with warm towels. Then the steam room and sprits bath. Massage is optional. It is an amazing, relaxing, historical experience and I will be back.
I did the traditional treatment. It was wonderful and inexpensive. What a treat!
Awesome place for an experience in history! It’s like stepping back in time and getting a spa treatment. I went for the full treatment which they were running a special on and included a massage. Wonderful! First come first serve but I still did not wait long and it was peak summertime.
It is not just a bath!!! It is an experience in itself. Will be back very soon.
Fascinating experience! It's first-come, first-serve, so check the hours when planning your visit.
This place is incredible. It has to be on a list of top 10 secret marvelous places for travelers. My 13-year-old son and I both had the traditional treatment and it was AMAZING! I would drive back up trough here and do this any time.
$30 was a steal for a completely excellent experience. Expect about 2 hours (off peak) for the process. The staff was great, the facilities are incredible. It's like you get to be naked in a museum. Can't be beat.
I travel from Utah once or twice a year to enjoy the wonderful treatment of the thermal mineral waters at the Buckstaff. I can say that I will do this as long as I am able. I try to always bring someone that has never experienced Bathhouse Row.
The building itself is neat, the elevators are the same style as the past and the location of the rooms have been kept the same. DON'T get a mani/pedi if you are expecting a unique experience, its just like going to a normal one, nothing special to it.
