“spend your time in paradise”
There once was a time when the largest hotel in Waikiki was only 6 stories high. In fact, there were only two large hotels (for that time) in Waikiki - the Royal Hawaiian and the Moana. It was a much simpler and friendlier time as well. Hawaii was still a calm relatively remote paradise in the middle of the Pacific - the ideal place to escape from the everyday rat race with your family. The Spirit of Aloha was alive and well and thriving in the small tourist area named after the infamous beach it fronted - Waikiki. Waikiki's hotels were mainly small "low-key" two or three story buildings owned and operated by a local family. Since then, concrete has replaced much of the palmed paradise that was once Waikiki but one thing hasn't changed. There is still a part of that Classic Hawaii nestled on the edge of this concrete jungle within steps of everything Waikiki has to offer - Waikiki Beach, shops, restaurants and shows.Outrigger Hotel - 1957 The Kai Aloha is from that Classic Hawaii era and maintains that friendly atmosphere of Aloha today - Hawaiian Hospitality at it's finest just as it was several decades ago when traveling to the islands was only by a luxury ocean liner. Furnished in rattan complemented by colorful island prints, the one bedroom suites and studios are the perfect place for you and your family to spend your time in paradise.
