In 2006 with a collective 50 years in the restaurant industry, Danny and Mandy Weigel opened The Junkyard Dog Restaurant in downtown Hohenwald. Quickly becoming a hotspot in the region for great food in an eclectic yet cozy atmosphere, the Junkyard offers top quality steaks, seafood and signature dishes, courtesy of food designer Danny Weigel. Pasta, seafood, steaks and more are mainstays on the menu as are fresh salads, warm the soul soups and Mandy’s famous gumbo. With the addition of a banquet room, The Garage, in the summer of 2010, Mandy and Danny welcome groups of 20-40, by reservation, to try out the Garage's exclusive menu. Located just 7 miles from the Natchez Trace Parkway, The Junkyard has became a destination for bikers and Trace travelers.
