Michel-Schlumberger Wine Estate

On a rare piece of level ground in Sonoma County’s Wine Creek Canyon, Michel-Schlumberger’s distinctive mission-style winery sits with its white stucco walls, bell tower and terracotta tiled roof.  On three sides, our vineyards are stitched across the rolling hills, with Wine Creek quietly running along the front of the Estate. Our property boasts more than 88 acres of prime benchland vineyards—long, narrow strips of level land bound by steeper slopes above and below, renowned for producing healthy, high-quality grapes. Add to that 16 acres on the tip of Bradford Mountain looking out to the Pacific Ocean, an olive orchard, a lake and more than nine different soil types across the elevations of the property and you have a good challenge for any winemaker! Our winemaking team goes to great lengths to match plant material, spacing and trellising to specific elevations on the Estate to best take advantage of the characteristics of each site. These parcels are farmed using sustainable practices to nourish the soil and the vines. While a wine can be nudged here and there in the cellar, we truly believe that the nuance of a great wine—its quality, individuality and personality—comes from its time in the vineyard.
