“exemplifying the best of Virginia viticulture”
The Winery at La Grange is a relative new comer to Virginia’s historic wine legacy. Established in 2006, we currently operate as both a farm winery and négociant. Our farm includes Cabernet Sauvignon vines (Benoni’s Vineyard) and Petit Manseng (Catherine’s Vineyard). We harvested our first crop of Cabernet grapes in September/October 2012, and while the Petit Manseng vineyard is a year younger than the Cabernet vineyard, we did harvest enough grapes to make 3 barrels of Petit Mensang. Over the next couple of years that vineyard will increase its yields. We are currently plotting out Benoni’s Vineyard to add Petit Verdot. In addition to the grapes we grow, we also lease portions of Virginia vineyards, harvesting whole grape clusters between August and October, then process and ferment the grapes at our winery under Fletcher and Doug Fabbioli’s direction. Our final wine portfolio then exemplifies the best of Virginia viticulture and our personal winemaking philosophies.
