“inspired American food”
Point A. Hawaii, 1990, where three noted New Orleans chefs—Hans Limburg, Greg Reggio and Gary Darling—met on a celebrity-studded catering assignment. By the time the job was done, the trio had fused their diverse backgrounds into an experienced culinary team. They named their new collaboration The Taste Buds. Then, Point Zea. In 1997, with one successful restaurant concept under their belts, The Taste Buds launched Zea Rotisserie & Grill. Inspired by the rotisserie cooking found at European food markets, Zea became a polished casual restaurant serving classic American fare infused with mouth-watering international flavors. Zea’s first location, nestled in the suburban periphery of New Orleans in Harahan, garnered immediate popularity and earned New Orleans Magazine’s “Best New Restaurant” award. Demand for Zea’s unique flavor grew, as did the number of Zea locations. Today, you’ll find Zea throughout the New Orleans metro area, as well as in Lafayette and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Mobile, Alabama.
