“set up camp on Coeur d'Alene Lake!”
Bell Bay Campground is a prime place to set up camp on Coeur d'Alene Lake. The upper camp loop is on a hill overlooking the beautiful lake, while the lower loop sits on a short ridge along the shoreline. ocated in the Panhandle of northern Idaho, the campground is surrounded by a forest of Ponderosa and other mixed pines. It lies on the southeast shores of Coeur d'Alene Lake just north of Harrison, Idaho. The lake spans 50 square miles, offering countless recreation opportunities and scenic views for visitors. Bell Bay campground offers six reservable single family sites and several other sites that are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is also a large group campground on the upper loop that can accommodate up to 60 guests. Drinking water, vault toilets and campfire rings are provided. The lower loop has two docks where boats can be moored. The walk from the docks is fairly steep but short.

Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on July 12, 2023This campground has everything you would need for a nice camping trip. Joe and nick, the camp hosts, are very nice and have a wealth of knowledge about the grounds and the area. They have firewood for sale (8$) and newspaper available. Campsite 16 is the closest to bathroom, water faucet, and trail to lake access. None of the site are directly on the lake and you have to use the trail to get to the dock.
They have 5-6 day use parking spaces. Campsites are 21$ a night and an addition car is 8$. If you have an RV make reservations online and I think those sites are more per night.
For more information call Joe and/or Nick at (208) 689-9636.
This is a great campground and we'll definitely come back! My only negative is the hour long drive to get there from Coeur d'alene on that crazy winding road that follows the lake. Also it seems like it could be a favourite with locals.. We weren't keen on our shifty neighbors for one of the nights, especially after our truck alarm went off (which was the first time thats ever happened) at 3am.. Suspiciously they were still up around the fire like nothing happened. But hey...
Details:
-price reflects 50% discount with our Access pass
-paved road nearly all the way, except for the last few miles then its hard packed gravel
-campground has upper and lower loops.. Take the lower loop if possible!! No views of the water from the upper loop - cant believe we were only paying $11.50 with that kind of view!!
-no hook ups, but several water spigots through out
-lower loop had one pull through site, the rest are back in or tent walk-in
-not much for privacy between sites but it didn't bother us given the location
-cell service was slow but available
-there is a path down to the water where you will find 2 docks, an outhouse and a couple picnic tables. Area is kind of overgrown but still enjoyable
Wouldnt hesitate to return here

Beautiful, quiet campground overlooking Coeur d’Alene. Our site (10) was very large and private and looked out over the lake. Will definitely come back as we think it’s the best place on the lake to camp.

This is a great site (10), rolled in after 5:00 on a Monday, went straight to lower loop sites since we heard they’re closer to the water. Paid half price with Nat parks senior pass. We parked along a wide pull out in the road with our Ram Promaster, which overlooked the fire ring and picnic table, and water. Breezy so that kept bugs away tho we saw a yellow jacked trap up in one of the trees. We’re riding the bike trail so have to move on otherwise I’d stay here longer in a heartbeat.

We had a beautiful view of the lake from site 15. The sites are paved with a nice fire ring and picnic table. Camp host has fire wood available for $8. Pit toilets are clean and plenty of trash cans available. The lower loop has two portable water spots, one is threaded. The road in is paved then turns to gravel for over a mile, then paved again the last third. That last third of the road gets a bit narrow from tree branches hanging into the road. The price we paid reflects our Access Pass 50% discount.

32 mile drive on winding roads along the lake. CG is nice with partial views of the lake for most sites. One hiking trail and, of course, the lake for recreation. There is little to do in the area because you are so far out. Harrison was a bust, we went for lunch and everything was closed.
