“Missouri's first Renowned Cave!”

The Mark Twain Cave Complex boasts America's Oldest and Newest Show Caves. Mark Twain Cave is Missouri's first Show Cave. The cave was first shown in 1886 and is a Registered National Natural Landmark. We are located approximately one mile south of Hannibal on Highway 79. When you visit us you will find a wealth of fun and interesting things to do! We have ample parking and free picnic grounds. We welcome school groups and tour buses. Experienced guides will escort you on the 55 minute tour of Mark Twain Cave where the walkways are level and smooth, and there are no steps. Because of the natural state of our cave it is not wheelchair accessible. Our cave stays a constant 52 degrees year round! (A light jacket or sweater is recommended on the tours.) Please wear sensible walking shoes.

The campground is beautiful and well-shaded. Good amenities and only 6 minutes from Historic Hannibal. The sites are large but the campground is not too big.

The lantern (flashlight) tour of the cave is awesome. No lights other than what we had in hand and no man made trail. Very exciting for our boys. Our guide was nice and educated but everyone else who worked there was less than pleasant.

It's been years, but remember it as a nice stopping point if wanting to spend time on Huck's river, near the famous cave and to wander Hannibal, MO to look and taste all things Mark Twain. This is a good experience and a nice countryside C/G. This can be a very busy place with sites located where they can be fit in, but a good place if you are wanting to be close to Hannibal.

What a great campground! I travel to Hannibal each year for the Single Stack Nationals handgun match across the river in Barry, IL, but have never stayed in a campground before. Glad I found this one, and it will be my destination for the next years as well!

The Mark Twain Caves complex is a family-owned tourist attraction in Hannibal, including the campground, which is nestled in trees between the Mississippi River and Fall Creek. We were there in early May so there were fewer than a dozen rigs in the whole property. The sites are large and spaced out, and you can choose from shaded to open.

Located only a mile from downtown Hannibal - home to a young fella you might know as Mark Twain - the C/G is a great spot if you want to spend a day or two reliving history, whether real or imagined. The local trolley company comes into the campground, on its tour around the city, so you can use it to see the sights.

Hookups include electric, water and sewer, and the only downside I saw to the C/G was the spacing of the utilities. Water and Electric were more than 30' from the sewer, so we had to carefully park the rig so we could reach both. Other than that, it is a great destination, and they even have ice cream in the camp store.

Stayed here for a week while visiting the Mark Twain Museum and Cave. Plenty to do. Was never bored at all. We were here in May of 2016. Wifi was sufficient for web access but not to stream movies or videos. There too many campers at the time using up all the band width.

Right on the grounds are a cave (fantastic, limestone, 52 degrees year round, 1 hour tour, $20), a winery, sandwich shop, and a love Mark Twain 1 hour one man show ($15).

Very fun stuff. Pretty, historic town nearby if you want more.

Our site was pull through, electric 20, 30 or 50 and water. Gravel and grass. Picnic table, fire pit cauldron.

Very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was here. Very clean, well kept park. We were in F area in back by the creek. Caves were cool too. We had a relatively spacious spot with a great fire pit. Have an extra fresh hose because water is way back of site while sewer is mid site preventing you from going too far back.

Stay 10/11/2018

Bathrooms older but clean and warm on a cool autumn night. We had pizza delivered. Nice grassy park with room to stretch out. I would image that in the summer the amusement park across the street could effect the “quiet” .

We were supposed to have electric only but they had cancellations so we got a full hookup all sites are back in so you have to unhook. Our site was plenty long for our motor home and Jeep. It was level and had a picnic table and fire ring. Water and electric were in the back and sewer about halfway up. Very small playground. Plenty of grass for the dog. Lots of families and the kids played games in the grassy areas and rode bikes. Laundry room has 2 washers and 2 dryers. $2.5 for a washer and 2.25 for 45 min on a dryer. Mark Twain Cave tour was fun. The sandwich shop was good. Close to town. Quaint Main Street and you can walk on the levee to see the river. Also good view of the river from lovers leap. No Verizon service except in town. Internet was horrible until 3/4 of the park cleared out. Then it was good. No over the air tv but got dish to work after several tries.
