Ratings Summary
Wildlife Prairie Park is a great place to go to see the animals in their natural habitats. I personally love going there and try to make it there as often as possible. There are many hiking trails, places to fish, camping as well as cabins. They have an amazing train also. They are no longer state funded so The prices have increased a bit. Along with that increase however is a beautiful butterfly garden, a new deer exhibit, additional train stops and more opportunities for activities. A lot of their staff is still volunteer. This is a kid friendly place with playground equipment and the famous huge slide!
Not a state park anymore, unfortunately. Just "wildlife prairie park" on interstate signs and online. Low (or should I say NONEXISTENT) funding from the state has reduced this place to a shell of it's former self. Animals don't have much space to roam, park is NOT wheelchair accessible, and the prices are now outrageously high since guests have to pay the employees' salaries. WPP used to be a great place, but as of late it seems to be just taking up space.
If you love seeing animals in their native habitat, then this place is for you. Enjoy watching native animals like wolves, cougars, bison and etc. There are also a lot of activities aside from sightseeing that you can enjoy, like having picnics. You can also enjoy the experience with your family and friends with just a reasonable price.
