“feed a real live gator”
Welcome to Gators and Friends, where you and your family can watch in amazement as giant alligators feed, wrestle and swim! These remarkable creatures will alternately awe and scare you as you view them in their natural habitat. Gators and Friends is centrally located in Northwest Louisiana, just 10 miles from Shreveport, LA, in the Ark-La-Tex. It’s a great place for a weekend visit and close enough for a weekday jaunt! Your kids will love it, and so will you! In addition to the huge reptiles, Gators and Friends has a fully stocked petting zoo where you and the kids can walk among tame and cuddly miniature horses, kangaroos, ring-tailed lemurs, deer, coatimundis, goats, llamas, a camel, a capybara (the largest rodent in the world), and even a Scottish cow! Get up close and personal with these sweet and exotic animals. You can even help feed them at feeding times!
This place was awesome ! The animals were amazing and ate out of the kids hands ! They loved it ! My 3yr old held a baby alligator and was in awe .. it was great ! He can't stop talking about it! I must stop if your passing thru! Under $10 a person and the kid was free!
This was a GREAT place to take the kids! As if the alligators weren’t enough, they also have the petting zoo(which was probably the biggest one I’ve ever seen before). Then they also have the zip line, arcade and the GoCarts. We all loved it.
This was a bit pricey for our usual stops on a long road trip, but it was worth it. It is a small family run place that has all kinds of animals. My girls (12 and 7) got to hold an alligator. We also got to pet and feed a whole bunch of other animals. Great break on a long day of driving, which is why I say it was a bit pricey for our usual stops. We probably only stayed for 1.5 or 2 hours at the most. Still worth it.
