Eastern North Carolina Barbecue is legendary and so are the men behind Parker's Barbecue Restaurant who shaped an industry. Long known for it's tangy vinegar sauce and lauded as the nation's most authentic pork barbecue, Parker's Barbecue has been feeding the families of eastern North Carolina and beyond for over 40 years. In the mid-40s, Richard Parker of Belvoir, NC sold a tract of timber along the Tar River. Some of the trees that leaned out over the river were rejected by the lumber company as being too difficult to remove. So Mr. Parker gave these to two of his sons, Ralph and Graham, which they snaked down the river and had sawed into lumber. In 1946, these became part of the first Parker's Barbecue Restaurant in Wilson, North Carolina started by Ralph and Graham Parker with their partner Henry Brewer.

The place looks very old run down. They did not have red slaw the bbq meat was good and mac&cheese, our corn sticks almost broke my tooth! Staff NOT at all welcoming or helpful with the menu.... Read more
