Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 10, 2019This isn't the place to go for fantastic views, but the people are super friendly, it has lots of amenities including a petting zoo, a small dog park, and garden you can pick from. It's right in the city, but you feel like you are in the country as you hear coyotes at night and roosters in teh morning. A new Walmart opened very nearby so also handy for stocking up, but Great Falls also has lots of other grocery stores and places to stock up. We went at the end of September and it still had lots of trailers so I suspect the summer is busy.

We were not sure what to expect, we had driven through here years ago and it was not great. However, the alternative would not work for us.
Our arrival was done well. We paid $100 a mo. more to be in the trees vs outside of the trees.
(This would be 2 stars) Lots of stickaburrs (smaller type cockleburrs) the kind that gets into the dogs feet and your carpet, their hair, and loads dandelions too.
Sewer hose hookups far away for a bigger rig (30 ft. of hose to reach it)
Good walking trail but keep an eye out for the rattlesnakes.
Disappointed in the Verizon coverage in the park. 2 bars w/o booster, 3-4 bars with. Working from home having an excellent connection is important.
Disappointed in the Laundry. It is $2.50 to wash and $.25 for 4 minutes! to dry. 3 machines.
I went downtown to 7th Ave. N and 26th St. $1.75 to wash $.25 for 8 min. (32 min. was enough). Can take your blankets down ($3-4 for big load washers).
Howard's Pizza- the best and delivers ($20).
Walmart is new and 6/13 will have Curbside services available.
Lots of small casinos along 10th Ave. S.
Lots of shopping too. Farmers markets in the summer downtown, 100's of vendors. Try the Hutterite Kraut it is amazing!

Only thing keeping this from an overall 5 stars is the price. It was a very quiet campground, lots of shade. Clean bathrooms/showers. Laundry facility. Pool area for kids with grassy area for laying out. Free firewood, free pancakes every morning!

We got a pull-thru site w/ FHU’s for one night. Friendly welcome and the campground had LOTS of amenities - perhaps our favorite was that we could walk to WalMart for shopping. There’s a fun little water park for the kids, nice little store, laundry, very clean bathrooms, live music at night (nothing crazy, just a couple of country/folk singers and their volume isn’t very loud) and FREE pancake breakfast! Wi-Fi was good: able to stream YouTube videos with no problem. Decent privacy between sites... but you can see/hear your neighbors. We loved this KOA and would happily return.

This is an 'original' KOA - as in, it's always been a KOA, since it opened in the 60s. As such, some of the older sites are a bit tight for those of us with large rigs. We called the day before arrival at the end of July 2019 and the only sites available we some older area pull throughs. It took us a bit of wiggling to get in, but once we did, it was fine. Site was level enough - although not all are (some have a steep little upgrade to enter/exit). The older area (sites 56 - 103) is well treed and nicely shaded. Hook-ups are laid out fine. The roads within the area and the sites are a dirt/gravel mix. The sites are pretty close together, but trees help keep a feel of decent separation.
The newer area - which is more conducive to those who desire some ease in navigating their big rigs, is directly behind Walmart and laid out with (a bit) more space between sites. Trees are still struggling to grow in this area so it's pretty direct sunlight - although many of these sites have a wooden awning thing and a fancy firepit thing. The views from the sites 239 through 258 are magnificent - a vast sprawl of Montana.
This KOA has a bunch of Kabins - and one or two with amazing views off their back deck (28/29). There is a playground, a water spray park situation (no pool - more wading style), two hot tubs (ages 5+), rental bike things, a petting zoo consisting of 3 goats and some chickens, a few pastures of horses (not owned by KOA - but very close and pettable), a lovely walking 'trail', nature/gold coin hunts every day, and a folkie band every night. There are free pancakes (+$$ for meat) every morning. The KOA store offers treats and tschotschkies - and free cookies most days.
We really enjoyed the laid back vibe of this place... although that may have just been due to lack of staffing. We did note that there was quite a bit of trash build-up around the spray park area - and that overall, the spray park area is due for a facelift (which appears to be in the works).
We'd give this place 5 stars - from the perspective of traveling currently with an 8 year old - except for the price (wow!), the bit of difficulty pulling into our space, and the slightly run-down/trashiness of the spray park.
The park is convenient to Walmart and drive-able to other Great Falls things. WiFi worked throughout much (but not all) of the park - and was useable most times.

We have such mixed feelings about this place. When we arrived, we were graciously greeted by Barry (I think?), who took us to our site in the wooded area. He helped us out with propane and wood and was super nice. Our site was private, not big, and not nearly as overgrown as others. It was “fine,” not quite the west Glacier koa we came from as others said. We walked the campground and were very happy to be located where we were, and not in the outer big rig lot where there were no trees, but what looked like plants of permanent residents. On a positive note, there was a walking trail to the Walmart. We liked the state parks we visited and were happy we stopped by the city. We would stay again if in the area, but it isn’t anything to rave about.

Verizon- 2 bars, used WeBoost Booster to work. Decent but not the greatest.
Lots of cockle burrs, small ones in our site along with thistles.
Laundry is expensive ($2.50 to wash and $0.25/4 min to dry. , so I took it down to 8th ave N and 26th St. Laundry- 1.75 wash, $0.75-1.00 to dry ($.025/8 min). Next to the laundry is Snyder Drug- soda fountain and IGA.
Site was level and did not need extra hoses.
Walmart, you can walk to from campground.
You can hear the night trains, but they are far away. Road noise is not bad.
We stay bc we have family close by.

Two stars. This park could be a lot better with some maintenance and minor improvements. Price is high for the quality of the facilities. Stayed here 8/11 – 8/14 2020. Stayed in the older area with mature trees. Many of the trees have dead upper limbs and thick new growth on the lower trunk. This makes for a high probability of camper to tree contact in the tighter spots. Our neighbor who pulled in for just one night had a 30-ft+ TT that must have hit four different trees on the in and out. The new spots on the east side are more open with less foliage to contact. Bath facilities are in above average condition with OK quantity. Wi-fi speed is definitely below average to nonexistent in the spots farther from the office. Access to Great Falls is good. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. Free pancakes from 8-10 every morning. We will likely stay here again and try the bigger and less treed lots.

Enjoyed walking the campground and feeding the goats at the petting zoo. Sites are tight but we had a nice end spot with a little more room.

This KOA was great! I was pleasantly surprised once we got on the property. It was a little deceiving coming in. I wasn't expecting much, but I was wrong!! We traveled with our four kids (ages 3-12). There was something to do for everyone. There was a Waterpark with slides and hot tubs. We went a a nature walk around the Campground and came across a little petting zoo with cows, goats and chickens! They had a barrel train ride around the property that our Littles really enjoyed. We didn't have to worry about breakfast, they served free pancakes!! There was a playground, basketball court and volleyball court. They even had live music one night! All the workers were friendly and helpful! The woman checking us in was very nice! Her husband showed us to our site, which was helpful!!
I had read that the bathrooms/showers were gross before I arrived. However, I didn't think they were gross at all!! Actually some of the cleanest I've been too!!
Our campsite was fine, it was a little small. We had a water/electric pull through site. We even got a military discount! The site included a fire pit and picnic table. We only had to do minor leveling. The wifi didn't work very well at our site, but that wasn't a big deal for us.
All in all, we really enjoyed the Great Falls KOA. I would recommend to anyone!
