Lemuel Haynes House was the home of Lemuel Haynes, first African-American clergyman ordained in America, from 1822 to 1833. He was also the first African-American minister of a white congregation. It became a National Historic Landmark in 1975. The house is located on Washington County Route 27 a short distance from NY 149 in the small hamlet of South Granville. It was purchased in 2009 by Bo Young and William Foote.
