“A Chippewa National Forest gem”
Murphy Landing Resort began operations in 1950; its current owners, John and Mary Uradnik, bought the resort in 1976. Today, Murphy Landing is one of the few remaining classic “Mom and Pop” fishing resorts in northern Minnesota, with ten updated modern cabins. The majority of guests at Murphy Landing have been coming to the resort for years. They appreciate the natural beauty of the Chippewa National Forest, the cleanliness of the cabins, the ample fish in the Wabana Chain of Lakes, and the undeniable charm of a family-oriented vacation destination where everyone is an old friend. The season at Murphy Landing runs from mid-May through September, with some guests returning for fall bird and deer hunting. The resort officially closes at the end of deer hunting season each year. Many people who call to inquire about the resort ask about which cabin is best for their needs. With the exception of Cabin 8, all of the lakeside cabins were original to the resort. They are right on the water and, while all of them have been updated, they are smaller in terms of living space.
