“Quaint motel and cottages”
Lund's "On the Scandinavian Riviera" is conveniently located in the beautiful village of Grand Marais, on the north shore of Lake Superior, a scenic two hour drive from Duluth on US Highway 61. Family owned since 1937, it was established by Abe and Mabel Lund and is currently owned and operated by their son, Ron. There are eight "original" charming housekeeping cottages that were built in the late 30's and early 40's, and a six unit motel with deluxe spacious rooms. The motel was constructed in 1984. The cottages have all been updated of course but still retain a flavor of the character of their era. We have 14 very nice, exceptionally clean units - six deluxe motel units and eight charming housekeeping cottages sited on three acres of well groomed, wooded grounds. Our spacious motel units are furnished with two queen beds, attractive modern furniture and art, individually controlled electric baseboard heat, refrigerators, coffee makers (complimentary coffee), bathtub and shower, hairdryers, phones, cable TV/HBO and free Wi-Fi. Games, books, brochures, microwave, and ice are available in our main office. All units are smoke free. All of our charming cottages provide full housekeeping amenities with apartment size ranges, refrigerators, microwaves, toasters, and coffee makers. All dishes, pots, pans, silverware, dish towels, dish soap, (even salt and pepper) are provided, as are all linens and towels. Four of the cottages have gas fireplaces. All have tubs, showers, and decks or porches for outdoor seating and relaxation. All have phones, TV/HBO, free Wi-Fi. The cottages are pet friendly (dogs only). All units are smoke free.
