“an unmissable building & unforgettable story”
At first glance, Kolb Studio is just a house perched on the rim of the Grand Canyon, but, if you look behind the doors or see it from the Bright Angel Trail after a long hike from the river, you realize it is much more than that. It is the place where the Kolb Brothers created a lasting legacy of adventure, family love, and amazing Grand Canyon photography that will last as long as the Canyon itself. This exhibit is presented by the Grand Canyon Association, Cline Library and Grand Canyon National Park. Additional funding is provided by the Babbitt Foundation, Pink Jeep Tours, Las Vegas and Sedona and Ms. Penny Schultz. Kolb Studio clings to the edge of Grand Canyon. It was the home and photographic studio of pioneers Emery and Ellsworth Kolb. Begun in 1904, the building has evolved through two major additions and countless minor changes during its century of existence at Grand Canyon. The evolution and survival of Kolb Studio is also the story of its builders, Emery and Ellsworth Kolb.
