This ferry takes vehicles across the Mississippi River between Calhoun County in Illinois and St. Charles County in Missouri. The fee is $8.00 per car. To reach the Golden Eagle from Pere Marquette State Park, take Route 100 southwest and cross the Brussels Ferry. Follow that road through Deer Plain and continue on until you see a sign pointing you toward the Golden Eagle Ferry. You will turn left off the main road at this point. Continue on until you see the ferry. Operates 5:30 A.M. to 8 P.M. Monday through Friday; 8 A.M. to 9 P.M. weekends and holidays.
