“on the oregon trail!”

Modern travelers will find a stay at Three Island Crossing much more hospitable than did the 19th century Oregon Trail pioneers who crossed the mighty Snake River at this location. Take a self-guided tour of the park and see the original wagon ruts and Conestoga replicas, visit the Oregon Trail History and Education Center to learn more about pioneers, early settlers and Native American history, dangle your feet or a line in the Snake River where emigrants made their historic crossings or sit under a tree and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Easy access to and from I-84 in a very historical Oregon Trail location. Very clean and well maintained park. Grounds are irrigated and manicured. Sites vary in size, most are comfortably spaced. Arranged in a large circle so each site looks out onto beautiful surroundings. Clean restrooms with flush toilets and showers. Electrical and water for hookup at each site. No sewer. Dump on the way out, clean and easy to access. Less than 1/2 mile to winery and restaurant. Hiking trails.

I arrived on a Sunday afternoon when the weekend crowds had gone, the Ranger lady Kerry at the kiosk was extremely nice. I was surprised to find that I had to pay not only for my camping site but also $5 a day extra for my tow vehicle, my total for 4 nights camping was $134. The sites are close together so I was pleased to be there during the week prior to peak season so I did not have any other campers in the sites close to mine. My site backed up to a lovely wooded area where I did see deer roaming. Nice places to stroll with the pup but the ticks are thick and it was not uncommon to pick up several on an average walk, not only on the pup but myself as well (still get skeeved out thinking about it). My Airstream digital antenna picked up a few channels but they were spotty at best and zero radio stations.
The winery, restaurant and golf course is in walking distance and I have to say where the best part of this experience. Other than that there is very little in town, blink and you will miss it entirely.

Nice and convenient location along Snake River with walking path and Oregon Trail Museum(limited hours that are not very accessible to public). All hookups, showers, paved. Mostly larger rigs with one group tent while we were there. Senior discount M-Th except holidays. Some sites are oriented such that they are close together. Many double sites ("companion") that appear to be under utilized and too numerous.

Great campground with lots of grass. Clean bathrooms and showers. Electric and water hookups and a dump station.

If you want something close that has great views of the snake river and history this is your place.

Generally a great campground, but when I stayed in early November I was charged full price even though the restrooms were locked up! Also, there were constant swarms of small annoying flying insects. Still, all in all I would stay here again.

Made it through check-in without issue and was able to quickly locate our site. There is plenty of room to maneuver a 42' 5th wheel through the park. We opted for a double-wide site and it came with 2x 30a power poles and 2 water spigots. The paved roads and sites are level and clean. There is easy access to dumpsters for trash. There are a couple of walking trails nearby to explore the area.

This is a well maintained campground with lots of trees for shade. Sites are nicely spaced, so you don't feel crowded. The campground is right next to a vineyard, which offers wine tasting, if you are interested in that type of activity. Bathrooms were very clean. I was pleased that Idaho state parks give a senior discount even for non-residents. Very nice! I definitely would stay here again.

Most recent stay was June August 18, 2019 ~ We camp in a Little Rig "Tear Drop” style RV w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area

We reserved site 82 (a long pull-thru site) through Reserve America, an easy process; had a 30 amp electrical and water hookup. There is a dump station on site at the top of the hill as you exit the park. Campground set up in an oval loop with rv sites on the outside and restroom/shower building in the middle – easy access. Green grass and shade trees everywhere, an open and airy campground with ample room between sites – no crowding here. Well cared for, grass was cut, trees provided ample shade, paved roadways and site pads. Each site has a nice aluminum picnic table and fire pit and all sites good sized – a very relaxing atmosphere. RV dump station at the top of the hill when exiting is easy to access and use. Restroom/shower building needed some TLC and showed its wear lacking general maintenance. It was clean inside but it ended there. Would have rated this park a 5 star but because of the lack of maintenance in the restroom/shower building it gets a 3 star.

Stayed here in mid-October. Were given a senior and veteran discount...nice!
Nice restrooms and showers.
Not many amenities in Glenns Ferry, so would recommend stopping at Mountain Home or Twin Falls if you need supplies.
Pretty day use area on Snake River with cabins and a short hike to see old ferry and wagon displays.
Good cell phone signal.

We loved our stopover here and would’ve liked to spend more time. Next time, next time! Sites are paved, pretty level, and surrounded with grass. Most sites had some trees for shade as well as beautiful views of the snake river valley. We had water and electric hookups and used the dump station in our way out. Great dump station - the non potable hose had a threaded end to help clean out the black water tank. This is pretty rare in Washington where we live so we really appreciated it!

The disc golf course here is no joke! Most of the holes were 300 feet. About half are in a manicured area and the other half are in more brushy areas so wear heavy shoes. Also, watch for the “water hazard” on hole 10.... you might not be able to retrieve your disc if you launch it on that hole.

We popped into Y-Not winery next door and really enjoyed the Sancerre that we picked up. We would like to spend more time here when things open up again.

We will definitely stay here in the future and check out their info on the Oregon trail (it was closed due to COVID during our stay).
