“treehouse lust!”
Sure, tree forts are generally reserved for children, but what happens when you decide to build a treehouse specifically for adults? You end up with a gorgeous weekend getaway that comes complete with a brewery. Who says kids should get to have all the fun? The Nelson Treehouse Supply company dreamed up the elevated brewery in Loudonville, Ohio at The Mohicans for a taping of the Discovery Channel Show “Tree House Masters." Conceived as the brewery and tasting area for the Treehouse Brewing Company, the incredible Brew Haus was created in just four weeks by a team of Amish builders. Sitting 22 feet off the ground in the middle of the Mohican State Park, the barn-style tree fort offers 200 square feet of space that can only be reached by a 30-foot elevated bridge, and contains accomodations for two people. Inspired by the classic barns of the 1800s, the red fort has custom stained glass windows, a kitchen, and a wraparound deck. Oh yeah, and there's beer. Lots of beer. The Mohicans offers some pretty reasonable rates for those looking to spend a few nights among the trees, sipping some (very) local beer and enjoying the surrounding nature.
This place is awesome! Their treehouses are incredibly gorgeous-- not to mention clean and well furnished. The red one used to be a brewery/taproom but it's been turned into room you can stay the night in. Love!
What a great find! We loved how isolated this place was but yet so well put together. Highly recommended. Make sure you read all the instructions before your trip and print them out just in case you don’t have cell connection.
