Looks like a great place to camp but the govt who should protect this spot has let it become a graffiti park. People’s names and tags I’ve the ancient art - very sad. You can still find a few authentic pieces but you aren’t supposed to Tom climbing into the rocks so you won’t see much but the evidence of criminal miscreants who climb all over and write their names on all the ancient works. Not worth the drive out unless you plan to camp in the lovely desert area by the park.
This is so worth the 20 minute detour. It's amazing to see old art forms like this. If you like history, art or indigenous culture, you'll love this stop. I encourage you to pay the $2/person fee as well.
Worth the quick trip off the main road. We loved it.
Quick stop. Trail goes around a huge mound of painted rocks. Go to the left. More rocks on that side. Make sure you have gas. Site is 12 miles off the main road.
Nice, quick pop off the interstate. There is camping in the area and informational markers about the petroglyphs.
This is an interesting site. There are a lot of petroglyphs basically all in a pile in the middle of the desert. You can drive up to it, no hiking needed. If you are driving that way, and have an extra hour to drive out and see the site, go to it. Otherwise, don't go out of your way for it.
Beautiful pre-historic art!
