“close to charming Gardiner, MT”
Rocky Mountain RV Park and Lodging LLC is located 1/4 mile from the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park and within easy walking distance to the charming town of Gardiner, Montana. Often referred to as the "Animal Capital of the West" Gardiner and the North Entrance is the perfect location for touring Yellowstone National Park and visiting the Beartooth-Absaroka wilderness.
This was a very nice campground with beautiful views of the town and mountains at the north end of Yellowstone. We found the staff friendly and helpful, although they do strictly close and lock the gates at 8:00.
Very close to the North entrance of Yellowstone, its a self-contained RV and small cabins park, so nothing too special. Clean bathrooms, nice showers, but they are down the big hill, so if you have an RV not super close. Check in and out was pretty easy, check out is fairly early, but it is close to shops and amenities. Full hookups at sites.
We had a great view of the river and downtown from our site as we were on the end. It is a steep hill getting up into the park, but we managed. Easy to get into and out of. Very quiet park. Friendly and accommodating staff. Minutes from the North entrance of Yellowstone and downtown Gardiner. Stayed 4 days and loved exploring Yellowstone from here. Laundry facilities very clean. Had visits from local wildlife (elk and deer).
Very clean laundry facilities and convenient location. The gates do shut at 8pm but they are not locked. We were registered before the gates closed. Had 6 elk walk up to the fence right behind our site. Location dictates the price so I can't complain about the price.
Terrible place. I regret staying here! They pack you in like sardines and they also don’t help anyone that is having trouble getting through the Yellowstone construction. They closed the gates and we had to stay in a parking lot in 38 degree weather. They closed an hour before we were able to make it and they would not let us in but they charged us for the night anyway. We were able to check in the next day and the receipt was for the two nights we stayed but they charged another fee for the first night that we didn’t stay but didn’t give us a receipt. I found it on my credit card statement and confronted them. PLEASE STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!
This campground is beautiful and is in high demand during summer, and that’s where they get you. Apparently there is no ‘late’ check in even though it doesn’t get dark until nearly 10pm and nevermind that there was road construction that held up traffic for nearly 30-45 minutes. If you arrive there after 8:00pm, the gates will be closed and you will still be charged! By far the worst campground we’ve done business with.
Very good for what it is. A place to camp while exploring Yellowstone and the surroundings.
Very reasonably priced for a full service campground in a high demand area.,
Friendly personnel.
Even though it is very close to town the hillside from the park to town is very steep, so don't expect to just take a casual stroll.
The site is perfect in that it is at the north entrance to Yellowstone, and is at the end of a very gentle ride from I-90. Since it is on a bluff overlooking Gardiner, Montana there is a picturesque view, easy access to some shopping, and tons of activities nearby. The RV park itself is well run and maintained. It does run full most of the park season so reservations are a must. Was worth the few extra dollars to have a jump on the day because we where able to do the circumnavigation of Yellowstone Park in a single day.
