“I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree...”

This drive among majestic, old, beautiful redwood trees follows California Route 254 as it parallels US Highway 101. It winds 51 km (31 miles) from US 101 exit 645 to exit 674, and may be driven in either direction. There are ten marked sights along the route, including the 950-year-old "Immortal Tree", an easy 0.5-mile walk through Founder's Grove, and several picnic and camping spots. The route passes through six small towns.

Highly recommend taking this road. Runs next to the 101 and signs posted everywhere. A peaceful, quiet drive. I couldn’t help but smile at the beauty.

I am so glad we decided to drive the full length of the Avenue of the Giants, this must have been one of the most beautiful roads I've ever driven.

A beautiful scenic route that follows the same path as the 101, but takes you through the forest. It is just beautiful. I would definitely recommend not missing it.

While staying at a nearby RV Resort, we drove the entire Avenue of the Giants... these beautiful trees are breath-taking! It is amazing how truly massive they are. Our host said these Sequoia trees are the oldest and largest living things on earth! We saw a trunk that was 3200 years old! We drove through one as well; VERY TIGHT FIT! We loved this beautiful forest nd woiuld come through again if in the area, for sure!
