“On the Seawall”
The Sandpiper Motel was a Galveston landmark for 45 years at Stewart Beach and Ferry road. The Sandpiper RV Resort at the same location is proud to be re-invented and reborn 2 years after Hurricane Ike. We are a Class A resort. All equipment must be self contained. The new resort features 43 paved and landscaped sites including beachfront sites and big rig sites. There is 30 & 50 Amp FHU, fenced and gated with green space, dog walking areas, and free WiFi throughout the resort. We are a pet friendly resort. In the completely remodeled, original 1963 office building are a stylish lounge area with high definition TVs, complete kitchen with granite countertops, card/meeting room, theater, laundry and deluxe bathrooms. In addition, 6 rooms are available for use of the Resort guests. Off the office front door is a brand new infinity edge pool with hot tub and lounging area. Perfectly located on the East end of Galveston Island at the intersection of Highway 87 and Seawall Blvd, the Sandpiper RV Resort is steps away from family friendly Stewart Beach, University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston Yacht Basin, Historic Downtown Strand District, Cruise Terminal and the many shops, museums and Attractions of sunny Galveston Island.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 10, 2021We have camped here several times. I chose it become of it's amenities and location. It is located basically on Stewert Beach. You can ride your bike on the seawall from here. The Strand is close but will have to drive to it. I like being near the beach, but really like having the swimming pool here. It is definitely more expensive than the state park but the amenities are worth it to me. Our only complaint this time is the helecopter rides within yards of the resort.

This is a very nice RV Resort. Its location on the island is perfect for us because it's close to where our daughter lives.
Check in was a little strange. The desk isn't attended all the time. I found the woman attending to the desk in the back vacuuming. No problem, she quickly attended to us.
We had a site that was towards the back of the park that afforded us a view of the Gulf. If that is important, pay attention to the site they give you. Their computer initially put us up near the road, but the desk clerk happily put us at the back. There was plenty of room for two cars at each site.
The pads are all concrete with grass all around. All sites are full hookups. The sites around the perimeter are back in, those in the center are pull through. Each site has a concrete patio and a picnic table. There are some overflow sites not in the park proper, they are along Seawall Blvd. We talked to one couple that said the road noise didn't bother them.
During our stay in May, the nightly rate was $50 during the week and $60 on the weekend.
Th WiFi worked well, but it was not password protected, so beware that anyone can get on. We relied on our Jetpack for "serious" business. There were plenty of OTA television stations from Houston. The park does have cable, but we found it to be fuzzy and unwatchable.
The park's infinity pool is WONDERFUL! It sits up high and overlooks the Gulf. The hot tub was kept at 102 degrees, although one of the helpers cranked it up a bit higher upon our request. There is also a gas fire pit hear the pool and hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed this public space.
It is a very easy walk to the beach from the campground.
If you can, make reservations to stay here, especially during the busy season. While we were there, it was full on the weekends.
We will be back to this one. Yes, it's expensive. But it was worth it. We scoped out some of the other parks on the island. This is the best.

The good here is a wonderful location near the beach and restaurants. You can walk along the shore or on the sidewalk on the main drag. The other really nice thing is their hot tub and infinity pool that look out toward the ocean.
The bad is that is is really noisy from all the traffic, and it doesn't feel like a particularly safe park. I have no evidence that it isn't safe, so take that with a grain of salt, but it has the "feels like" that makes you keep everything locked tight all the time.
I could be convinced to come back, but only after I try the other parks that are a little bit out of town.

Very convenient location. Only a short walk to the beach and to the seawall. We stayed the last week of March, so not a lot of tourist or noise from the road. Everything is well maintained and clean. Because the resort wasn't full of campers, we could see the ocean from our campsite. With our Good Sams discount, we only paid $45 a night.

We bought a new to us TT this past September and promptly took a one night shake down trip to a nearby lake. Worked out well.
This past week we finally got around to a real trip. Wife insisted on a beach trip which I was against (sand/rust/salt/etc.). Rockport and Port A were possibilities but I dint want to be right on the beach
We had seen the Sandpiper RV Resort on a recent cruise out of Galveston. The Sandpiper is on the Oceanside next to Stewart Beach. It occupies what WAS the pad site for a motel that was taken out by Hurricane Ike in 2008. It is smallish (43 sites) and is central to activities in town. The place was clean, polite and friendly. Nice landscaping, concrete pads, full hookups. They had cable but reception on many channels was poor (Fox News, no NBC). There as WiFi EVERYWHERE (14 access points) but not a single one was actually connected to the Internet. Missed opportunity. ATT Cell service was strong. It was a great location with a decent view. We paid $50 per night. Our reservation was for arriving Sunday and departing Wednesday. We asked about tending the night and they told us that we could but would need to move to different pad (strange since they claim to assign sites on the day you arrive. If you go, you probably don’t want the sites outside the fence as they are RIGHT ON Seawall Boulevard. Your view is the Homewood Suites across the highway.
We figured that was not worth the trouble and began looking for another option.

Overall the park is pretty nice. Since it is within the city of Galveston, you should expect to have the city noise in the park.

The location is good, stayed in mid November for a week.
WiFi is sporadic, I was working during the week and needed reliable connection so I used a nearby xfinity spot for $20 for the week. Thanks to my wifi ranger it worked great.
Showers have that super annoying feature where you must press the button to get water every 20 seconds or so.

We steadied here with our 35 foot toy hauler for 2 nights. Our campsite was outside the fence however the staff was great along with a friendly atmosphere. Once there parking was fine but seems inside the fence may have been a little more difficult. The weather was a little cool for swimming at the beach and pool but the hot tub made up for it. We will be back. Highway noise was bad at times but that was due to a busy summer weekend.

Positives-all concrete pads very level. Nice pool.
Negatives-no negatives for the park but just a note about Stewart Beach-they are out to get your money. If you don’t have any then your experience there might not be what you would figure a beach experience should be. Might consider looking for a public beach.

Spent 4 nights in November so things were a little slower. Clean and well maintained. Good location. Sites are concrete with adequate room between them. Great Infinity pool and hot tub as well as nice pool area.
Two negatives: Not great water pressure and no beach view. Beach is a Texas beach so that's what you get.
