I'll start by saying that I prefer fed/state parks. I don't like being right on top of one another. I get at most RV parks/campgrounds they tend to be that way and this was no exception. Arrival was good, after looking at a few sites, they accommodated us by letting us switch sites. Our site was nice and shaded, the campground was quite and the facilities were great. They have a pool and had organized activities for kids/adults. The store was well stocked. We had a site with full hook-ups (minus cable, which seemed to be broken). They have wifi, but it was slow, and cell reception (ATT) was very poor.

While visiting family in the Fredericksburg area, we stayed at this KOA because it really is the only option. The route to the park is in the country and narrow. There is a steep hill right before the entrance so you hope no one is following too closely and is paying attention. The entrance and interior roads are full of potholes It's a pretty big park with lots of trees. Directv satellite was not possible. We had no Verizon coverage unless we used our extender and then we still only had 3g and one bar so it was pretty useless. The WII FI worked pretty decent but only because we have a WII FI extender. The sites are strange. Most of them have a steep entrance and/or exit with a somewhat flat part in the middle. Some sites in the back were partially flooded due to heavy rain. Each site has a picnic table but they old and very dirty. There's no landscaping just the “natural” look. They have what they call deluxe sites which just includes a small pergola - hardly makes it deluxe IMHO. There is a small playground with some old worn out equipment. There is a pond which attracts lots of geese and the resultant poop. The pool, although small, is probably the nicest amenity. They have a dump but it is strangely positioned just past where the check-in line starts. We paid for the weekly rate and still think this park is way too expensive. BTW – you have to specify that you want the weekly rate (which is a night free) or they won't give it to you. If you are a KOA member, they will just apply the 10% discount rather than giving you a night free. If not a KOA member, they will charge fully for each night. Weekend and holiday nights are more expensive, and the night you get free is whichever is the last expensive night. We stayed here in a motorhome.

We needed a nice place to stay during a trip south on I-95, and with not many options, this seemed to have the best reviews. It was OK, but not great for an overnighter. It's a 10-minute drive from I-95, and the road to the campground is 2+ miles of very narrow, hilly, winding country road... a couple times we were sure we would either scrape against oncoming vehicles or drop our right wheels off onto the shoulder/ditch. The access road is too just narrow for big rigs. We had one bar of Verizon but were not able to get any data to work, and one bar of AT&T (4G) which worked intermittently. The campground WiFi worked decently well, but it's worth noting the campground was 3/4 empty when we were there. It's a very rustic campground with gravel roads and sites. Sites are typical KOA size... not especially large, but not right on top of each other. Check-in was very friendly and efficient, and the camp store was larger than usual. While the campground itself was nice, in the future we will likely look elsewhere due to the narrow access road and lack of cell signal here.

We were there for quite a long time due to family issues. They kindly moved other RVs around so we could stay in the same spot. (It would have been nice if they had converted us to a monthly rate as the weekly rate added up quickly – I'm just sayin'). The staff is nice, and they uphold the rules. We had one neighbor with a pesky dog, and they took care of it very quickly. As for noise, there are trains, and a race track that has events on certain weekends. It is pretty quiet at night though. It really fills up in the afternoon and then empties in the morning – lots of people passing through. Very limited Verizon cell phone coverage, 3g 1 bar, and there were times our phones wouldn't work at all. The WII FI worked okay for the most part. Directv satellite worked but probably because the trees were bare. There are a lot of trees so satellite may be an issue when the trees are greened up. There is a small pond you can fish and a small pool. There is also a playground but it is dated and the equipment is sparse. The staff is often seen out and about doing ground maintenance, and they are johnny on the spot picking up trash. It is pricey here but options are very limited in the area.

Our stay in January was a bit depressing with rain making the grounds flooded, dark due to the tall trees (probably amazing during the summer), old playground and overall vibe. It was really far to drive into downtown DC. Despite an empty campground another guest was assigned adjacent to us. So we decided to use the opportunity to change spots for privacy & upgrade to a delux site which was elevated and dry. This information is biased on time of year, traveling with a dog & young children, and wanting ease of access to DC. Staff were pleasant yet sticklers about dogs on leash.

We bought our new camper in NJ and drove it back down to Savannah. We spent our first night here. It was a great experience - don’t let anyone fool you, the ride in is no big deal.

Will be back to tour the Civil War battlefields next year.

As others have written, this is one of the only options available. I enjoy staying in State Parks more than RV Parks but KOA's do seem to offer a lot of amenities.

It is 10 miles SE of Fredericksburg, so we are going to rent a car for touring. Lovely trees, not many other campers. They do tend to put you next to each other even when there are many other sites.

Had great showers, and nice laundry room.

A lovely campground off the beaten path. Close enough to everything that you’ll want to see. Great staff. Great walking loop. Laundry and bath facilities top notch. We’ll stocked store, but not for perishables (except ice cream). No worries, though. Publix is only a couple of miles away.

Relatively level granite chips for our site. Sewer located downward from site, so easy offload. Good electric and cable connections.

Sketchy cellular service; for once, AT&T seemed to have advantage. Verizon weak. TMobile/Sprint weak.
