“The grandest canyon in Northern Rockies”
Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area is the grandest canyon in Northern Rockies. It features a landscape of sheer cliffs towering 1,000 feet above a ribbon of blue water as well as world class fishing and a place where wild horses still run free. Bighorn Canyon has an active Junior Ranger Program which combines fitness with outdoor recreation. It is also the home for bighorn sheep, mule deer, wild horses, mountain lions, black bears, and many other animals.
Not a lot to do except boating here, it seems. We drove around and saw the canyon, it was cool, but a little lack luster. Hiking options were not great.
