We stayed at the Hoh Campground even though it said 21" max length recommended. It's not that the sites are small, its the roads into and around the campsite. Some of the turns were really tight. Luckily it was winter and almost empty, so we had some extra room driving around the loop. Our site was beautiful and right next to the river. The road into Hoh is narrow and can flood, so definitely check those things before going. And remember to fill up on gas before you enter the park!

I'm totally confused as to why they say 21 feet maximum. We have a 28 foot class C and had no problems whatsoever. There were cars with trailers attached there. We were told Loop A is better for bigger rigs.

The dump station was broken and they'd closed off the whole area - including the one public hose tap. The camp host came to our rescue by letting us use her tap. The taps by the rest rooms don't have hose attachments.

It would have been nice if they'd put a sign at the bottom of the road, 18 miles away, about the dump station!

Beautiful spot with lots of space and great trails.

Cellphone reception died shortly after entering the park gates at the bottom of the road for both at&t and my overseas roaming one.

We arrived around noon mid week in August. Lots of choice ofor sites. Gradually filled as the day progressed but spaces still available.

We came here on a Sunday on a long weekend thinking there was no way we would have a spot (all the sites are FCFS). To our surprises, there were still a few sites left that were big enough for our 35 feet long bus (pull-through even!). Loop A is much less treed and offers sites on the river. We chose to be there for solar. Loop B and C are in the moss covered trees (Loop C has pretty tight turns, check it out on foot or with a tow vehicle first). And great news, there even was connexion on many sites in Loop A (very hit and miss 4G LTE, but good enough for my husband to work).

Make sure you hike Hall of Mosses (0.8 miles) and The Spruce Trail (1.2 miles).

The dump was still closed when we were there (sept. 4-5).

The HoH Campground & Visitor Center is at the end of an 18 Mile long bumpy road. Great Hiking, Picnic Areas, and Camping. We have no problem at all with our 38-foot class A driving through all 3 loops. Over the years we have stayed at 6 different sites on all 3 loops, and they are all fantastic.

If you have a big rig, you do have to drive with caution, but I would 100% recommend you go. They have water, firewood, but there dump is closed, so you have to dump at Kalaloch CG on the US101.

Even on the busiest weekends, where everything else is full, they always have a site.

The sites vary, but some have good private picnic areas with a lot of surrounding vegetation. We camped on the back side of loop B, by the horses. It was a great spot for privacy because everyone else camped along the river (too crowded for us). The trees blocked most of the rain from us, so if it's raining during your stay, pick a spot with a good canopy. Our only complaints were an engine hum (generator?) in the woods behind us and the restroom at B loop was closed. Also, quite busy at the visitor center and on trails the next morning.

We may have had one of the best spots (25)- pull through, on the rivers edge, sun for the solar panels, hammock trees, and 3 bars of Verizon LTE.

We actually just pulled through the campground to check it before doing a hike and probably moving on to the coast- but we liked it so much we stayed.

Loop A and C have spots along the river, Loop B has the most shade. We were there for unusual sunny and hot (80 degree) days, but usually it’s more cloudy and misty.

We enjoyed walking to all the rain forest hikes, playing in the river and actually enjoying hanging out in our campsite.

There are three loops here. One in the sun (better for people who have solar) as this is dry camping. The other two loops are in more of the Hoh Rainforest Canopy. We chose the forested canopy as it was supposed to get into the upper 80's while we were there. We ended up seeing a Roosevelt Elk walk through our site one day! We felt like we were sleeping in an enchanted forest.

On the sunny loop there is access to a small "beach" that is mostly river rocks and some parts sand. There is a gorgeous river running by, and is a great spot to relax, get some sun, read, or just enjoy nature. You're close to all of the trails and are inside the actual National Park, so it's suggested to have the national park's pass so you don't have to pay an entry fee on top of the camping cost per night. There is a dump station and water fill up near the dump station.

It's first come first serve, so get there early or just after the normal departure time of 11 - 12. The camping spots filled up each day before 3:00. You drive around looking for an empty spot. If you see one that you fit in, grab it. Then go to the front board, fill in a yellow envelope with your information, payment, and site number and add it to the board.

The campground in the Hoh is always a sweet and sour, but still one of my favorites - Sweet: huge moss draped Old Growth trees, river views, and peaceful mornings; Sour: perpetual rain, and the long twisty-and-bumpy road to get here. First-come-first-serve camping that never seems to fill, coupled with the remote location, almost guarantees you a spot even if you arrive a little late in the afternoon, though you may not get a preferred spot by the river.

Camping under the dense drapery really makes you think about what the forest was like before it was untouched by man. Venturing off-trail into that forest really brings you back to an almost primeval state, it's quite refreshing! When the sun breaks through the clouds, it's very refreshing to the soul, and worth waiting days for.

Hoh is extremely remote, so be sure to stock up on absolutely everything before you venture off the 101 - there is no gas, grocery, or propane within a 3hr round trip drive once you get to the campground. Dump station has been broken for a long time now, so the closest dump is Kalaloch. Some of the loops are very, very tight so be careful! We didn't have any issues with our short wheel-base TV, but you may have issues if you have a HD pickup and long trailer on some turns.

You may, or may not, get Verizon signal at the campground depending on the clouds, where your site is, and the sensitivity of your equipment - Hoh is very remote. In most of the loops without a booster we typically only managed a couple bars of 3G occasionally switching to LTE on our iPhone X's. However with a 9-in-1 Omni antenna and Cradlepoint router we managed 8.3/1.6Mbps with Verizon through our stay with no dropouts. With a window-mount antenna in our tow vehicle and the same Cradlepoint router we managed about 4/0.75Mbps with Verizon. With the Wilson 4G-X booster and 9.5" Onmi antenna we get a single bar of LTE on our phones within the trailer, though it was a bit slow to load pages.

Overall we loved our short stay, and will come again.

First-come-first-served: We were a little apprehensive about finding a site, but it was no problem this early in the season. Arriving at about 7:30pm, there were at least six left in the C loop. While #89 is right at the entrance to C loop, we had plenty of privacy (only a neighboring site on one side). The entire A loop was closed, and several sites were being upgraded to level concrete pads.

Smallish sites: I saw one 5th wheel camper stop in the parking lot, then left after a bit. There isn't room for big campers here. Our 18' trailer fit, after we unhooked the tow vehicle and parked it sideways. We had one of the bigger campers.

Dump Station: It is still closed.

Our short stay was just what we think camping is about, being outside with nature. We had a moss covered vine maple tree visible through the skylight. Ferns were everywhere. We enjoyed a nice hike along the Hoh river trail, and found the second closest geocache on the way out. Campground was very quiet and peaceful. We'll be sure to come back later in the season. Even if the campground fills up, there are lots of boondocking sites available in the National Forest and State lands that you drive through on the way to the park.

The campground has had some recent upgrades, loops A and B have new bathrooms, and new sidewalks around them. Several sites have new or improved parking pass. Site 38 on loop A has been widened and has a new large gravel tent pad. Site can easily accommodate 35ft+ 5th wheel.

Dump station is closed long term, perhaps permanently. Loop C bathrooms are out of commission and served by Porta potties.

Loved our stay here in the rain!
