“We have just the place for you”
When you stay at Pacific Pines RV Park in Florence Oregon, you will be in the "City of Rhododendrons" on the central Oregon coast, where the forest and the Siuslaw River meet the Pacific Ocean. Florence Oregon is amid the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area (ODNRA) and the Siltcoos Recreation area. The ODNRA contains some of the largest dunes in the world and stretches for 50 miles between Florence and Coos Bay. These areas afford the opportunity for bird watching, hiking, dune buggy and atv excursions and horse back riding. Because of the Siuslaw River and the many freshwater lakes; fishing, swimming and boating are also favorite activities. At the dock, crabbing, clamming and ocean fishing are available. From the South, enter Florence over the scenic, historic Siuslaw Bridge and visit Old Town with its restored fishing village atmosphere, with small boutiques, art galleries, coffee houses, fine dining and museums. The Pioneer Museum has exhibits of pioneer items and Siuslaw Indian artifacts and The Dolly Wares Doll museum has a wide variety of dolls on display.

We picked this spot for an overnight as the weather called for rain, rain and more rain. It is all concrete, asphalt and rock. No soft surfaces to get mired in or mud to track into the trailer here! The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and informative. The sites are close together, asphalt with gravel and shrubbery in between each. Our pad was perfectly level - great for easy packing up in the rain. The restrooms/showers were recently remodeled and were very nice. Despite being close to the road, it was extremely quiet at night...and there is NOT a lot of lighting to shine in the windows and keep you awake. There is coffee in the a.m. in the rec room. The wifi was spectacular, despite the full park. We were able to stream a movie.

I've been staying here on a monthly basis for the past 5 years - 30-60 days each year. The daily rate of $42.50 is with Good Sam discount. Otherwise, it's $47 per night. Monthly is $825 during high season of May-Oct, half that during the rainy season Nov-Apr.
The park is entirely concrete with landscaped gravel cutouts between sites so it remains very clean - yay, no mushy dirt or gravel to drive on. It rains here a lot between late October and April, hence the concrete, plus a very good drainage system causes no worries.
The owners/managers are super friendly and run a tight ship, keeping everything clean and in working order. The park is located just off Hwy 101 about 3 miles north of Old Town Florence - which is a small, touristy but lovely town. There are lots of shops and restaurants along the harbor waterfront. If Indian casinos are your thing, there's one a couple of miles east of town. Nearby are sand dunes, jetties and state parks to explore as well as Heceta Head Lighthouse and beach as well as sea lion caves.
Pacific Pines is one block east of Hwy 101 so there's a bit of traffic noise but nothing objectionable.
In years past, wifi has been a bit spotty but this year it seems to be quicker and more reliable. The company they use monitors the bandwidth you're using on your assigned IP address. It's been my experience that if you are streaming high volumes of wifi video, you'll be blocked on that device for 24 hours or more so don't do it. This keeps everything fair so the bandwidth is reasonable for everyone.
Satellite TV reception is very good here. There's a clear view of the southern sky from nearly every site. There are trees along the perimeter but they aren't very tall. Even in a driving rainstorm, my Dish Tailgater pulls in a clear signal here.
Verizon, ATT and T-Mobile all have good cell service in Florence. I get 3 bars of T-Mobile at the RV park.

Easy check-in with a nice English fella. This is a basic park as far as landscaping and amenities. There are no views – we looked at the trash bin, dog park and storage garages. The interior roads and sites are concrete which is nice. Most sites looked pretty level. It’s a bit tight maneuvering for larger rigs. If you are on the front row near the exit, it can be especially challenging. We barely fit our 45er in the site and had to park the car elsewhere. The sites are narrow, and we hugged up against a tree pulling in. We had to position carefully to get all 4 slides out, and we were still right up against a tree on the driver’s side. Sites are close with a couple of trees between. Lots of cars parked all over the place since most sites are too short to fit both the RV and car. There is some street noise from 101 but the boat/RV storage area up front blocks some of it. That does not deter from the very loud diesel trucks in the campground and surrounding neighborhood. There are many long term renters that leave early in the morning. Also lots of dogs barking even in the middle of the night. WII FI either worked pretty well or not at all. Verizon was 4g 3 bars so we used our hot spots a lot. They have cable but we didn’t try it and satellite seems possible in all sites. To use the laundry you must sign up for a 2 hour slot. Many people were taking advantage and showing up early or staying past their time. It costs $2.50 for the washer and $2 for the dryer. The bathhouse has 2 showers and 2 bathroom stalls and all appeared clean. The park is convenient to Florence, and there are some nice hikes nearby.
