Apparently we snuck in to one of those over age resorts --- who knew? It was adult oriented, quiet and no kids. The owners are so nice and have an amazing attention to detail. They even lit a fire for us in the community fireplace to enjoy each evening. The park is close to town and easy access for shopping and dining out.
After a week of dry camping it was a perfect stop to take long showers (full hookups), do laundry and cook a few crockpot meals which catching up on cable and enjoying high speed internet that REALLY works. I actually spent a rainy day in their 'tv' room working and doing laundry.
Everything from the spaces to the laundromat are clean and in perfect working order (it was actually the best washing machines I have used in the past 3 months with really HOT water).
Spaces are small and most have picnic tables. We had a double wide space which was a back in and very nice. The center pull throughs appear to be smaller. The space surface is red cinder and easy to get level. If you are comfortable with close proximity to your neighbors then you won't mind. If you prefer wide open landscape, this will may feel a little too tight.
Flagstaff is a fun little town with lots to do in and around there - We enjoyed the breweries (Lumberyard and Mother Road) along with some great mountain biking areas including Campbell Mesa, Fort Valley and Schultz Pass Loop.

We loved (almost all of) our experience at J&H. It is a 55+ park, which means there are no children running around, no pool or playground noise, and no 20-somethings doing keg stands. (Wow, do I feel old after writing that!). It is also a no-smoking park, which my sensitive lungs really appreciated!
The park is family owned and we enjoyed speaking with all 3 generations of the family. This is one of those rare places where the owners are the ones doing the maintenance, working the front desk, and making sure your needs are met.
The location is great - right on Hwy 89, close to both hiking trails and downtown. The layout of the park - tiered pull-thru sites on a downward slope - made the sites feel private.
The free WiFi was actually very good. It dropped a few times, but generally allowed me to get some work done, check email, and update my blog.
However .... a word of caution for motorcyclists. They have a "no operation in the park" rule. Which we took to mean don't do zoomies on your MC around the park - just ride straight from your rig to the road (a common policy at nicer parks). But, they really mean NO operation in the park. We actually went out for a ride one morning with no issue, but were "welcomed" back by the owner screaming at us, telling us we had to pack up and leave the park immediately even though we were paid up for 2 more days (luckily, his wife was able to calm him down and we were allowed to stay). Realize that we are two old farts on a very quiet Goldwing, driving straight from the road to our site at less than 10 mph. So if you plan to do any mc riding during your stay in Flag, this is not the place to stay.
Otherwise, we'll definitely be back (and won't take our MCs out of the trailer!!)

We stayed while passing through to California. The park was in immaculate shape. The restrooms were spotless, and the hosts were very friendly. We did not use the wifi, so cannot speak to that. There were a lot of seasonal campers up from Phoenix, so we were glad we had made a reservation. There were a number of high end rigs in camp.
Be sure to watch closely for the sign as you drive north out of Flagstaff. The road traffic can be fast, so prepare to brake and turn in. At that night, there is a little road noise through the roof vent, but the campground is silent.
We found a great Thai restaurant (Patio Thai) downtown that is worth a drive back into town.

Stopped for one night here to dump tanks, etc. Attractive CG. Didn't ask our age, although we qualify for 55+. Looked like a long list of rules and rules posted everywhere which didn't cause a problem for us, but could for some people. Quiet and pretty.
If we hadn't needed to dump tanks, fill water, etc., we would have chosen the CG right by the visitor center at Sunset Crater which was close by and really beautiful.

This is a nice RV park off of 89 which was very convenient for me. It is a quiet area which I liked but off of 89 which was convenient for my travels there. It is also close to a couple of hikes I went on while there.

Sites are very very small, they squeezed in as many as they can. Dog run is disgusting and old. Host/ owners have a horrible attitude as soon as you check in and then our experience was the worst experience ever. Our 32 year old son came to have dinner with us our first night Harvey the old mean owner came flying in on his cart as soon as our son and his girlfriend arrived screaming that we were breaking the rules and he was kicking us out! The four of us just wanted to have dinner but I guess no guests allowed. I had told the wife when we checked in earlier and she had agreed but told us that he could not park his car at our site, in which he was going to move it, after he brought some food in, but the crazy old man never gave us the chance. All in all we did leave early and never want to go back.

This is an acceptable urban campground with lots of trees and a fairly nice dog park. However, there are so many rules - no smoking, no pets in any common areas, no visiting pets, and more. It is a well maintained campground and conveniently located. The wifi is not the greatest. We could not get a refund on our $100 deposit when needing to leave early due to 19 degree temperatures and snow/ice.

This was actually the very first RV park that we stayed at since we started this full-time RV life. We were probably the youngest ones there, we didn’t even know there was such a thing as an age limits to this whole RV thing. (Kinda don’t like that.) But we loved getting to know all of our neighbors and getting all of their advice for this life on the road! We did notice there were plenty of rules, but we didn’t find any of them unreasonable and felt most are probably what led to this place being such a nice and enjoyable park! The sites were very easy to navigate in and out of, clear directions, well-kept sites with very nice hookups & cute benches, etc. Laundry room and bathrooms were exceptional, and the ladies in the office were very friendly! They also had everything you might need there in the office for sale, and we found that very nice. No dusty roads, plenty of trees, plenty of hang out spots, and the dog area was very green & very well-maintained.
After months on the road now, however, and having experienced many more parks since then, I will say that this was the most expensive park we have stayed at and we probably wouldn’t go back for the price.

This was our 5th or 6th stay here and as always, it didn't disappoint. Access from Hwy 89 is easy. Check in is quick and pleasant. We easily found our pull through site which was level and plenty long enough for our Class A and our tow vehicle. Our site had a concrete patio and nice picnic table. We had a few trees but none were situated such as to provide much shade most of the day. There are some sites that have much more shade. Sites are a bit close where we were but not too much. There are other sites that have good spacing which are generally given to longer term campers. Full hookups are well located with choice of sewer hookups closer to the front or closer to the back of the site allowing you to choose which works better. Water hydrant was a bit low but didn't require any creativity to attach our inline filter with our hose. 50amp service was steady at about 120/leg. WIFI was 4.73 down & 1.25 up. We didn't use it other than to check the speed. FMCA hotspot had good connectivity but was often throttled. T-mobile cell service was good and we used it as a hotspot when the FMCA hotspot was throttled too much to be usable. We didn't use the cable as there were many good OTA channels. It's a small, family owned park so it's quiet. Really the only downside is Hwy 89 as it is a very busy road although the traffic noise is minimal in the park. Making a left hand turn out of the park can take some patience. There is a center turn lane that helps. We've stayed at a couple of other RV parks in Flagstaff and this is by far our first choice. Mary's Diner just up the street has wonderful food with a fabulous chicken fried steak. Easy driving distance to the Grand Canyon, Sunset Crater and Wupatki National Monuments are close by. The Conoco up the street is a good place to fill up large rigs with diesel.
