“Happy Camping in Flagstaff”
Whether you're exploring northern Arizona, escaping the desert heat or traveling Route 66, this beautiful campground is your ideal location. Set at 7,000 feet among tall ponderosa pines at the base of the San Francisco Peaks, the perfect summer temps reach the high 80s during the day and low 50s at night. Relax in Patio RV Sites, tepees, Cabins and (new in 2016!) Deluxe Cabins. Families love the banana-bike rentals, a playground and even hiking trails from the campground to the national forest. Enjoy summertime, daily on-site mountain breakfasts, family movie nights, bounce house and kids activities. The Aquaplex indoor water park is just 2 miles away. Some tours leave directly from KOA to northern Arizona destinations. This is the perfect base camp for exploring Sedona's famed red rocks, Meteor Crater, the Grand Canyon and Walnut Canyon National Monument. Max pull thru: 55 feet.
I stayed here last night with my family and it was fantastic! We arrived at 8 pm..very last minute.. And they were so pleasant! There are over 150 rv camp sites and around 50ish tent campsites. There are 2 bathrooms and they are very clean! I think there was 3 showers in the bathroom we used. There is also a fences in playground, 2 fences in potty areas for dogs(one for dogs 25lbs and under, one for dogs 25lbs and up). When we woke up we went to the little breakfast food wagon. The food was ok but I'm picky so don't listen to me. There are two dump sites and water fill up stations. The campground is full of tall trees and it's located right at the bottom of a mountain
Nice facilities, hiking and guided tours, many pull through sites, strong wifi throughout.
It's a really nice heavily treed campground. Right next to excellent hiking trails. Very friendly office staff. Great location as a gateway to Grand Canyon or up to southern CO.
Nice, clean campground. Has full hook ups. Great playground for kids. Has a little breakfast cook shack too.
We’ve been camping across the country for the past week and a half, so we have been to many campgrounds to compare. Some KOA were great customer service. This one we were very disappointed with. It was one of the pricier campgrounds we stayed in, the RV sites are not leveled and definitely not worth the amount you pay. I reserved before leaving for our trip, so I had no experience in what to look for in campgrounds and now that I know I realize I never would’ve picked this place. You can stay in other nicer campgrounds for the fraction of the price you pay here.
First off, this campground is big, which is nice. Has some nice amenities for the children and good hiking access.
Our issue was with the staff at front desk. Both times we spoke to them they were rude. The map provided with information said, if you needed late check out they would accommodate upon request. We only needed 2 extra hours and we understood if they said no. However, when asked they rudely said no, when questioned about what map stated they said no again, didn’t even acknowledge their own written offers. It was not about them saying no as much as this was the second encounter and both times even though the first one was just to check in they were not courteous and very rude when speaking to us. The staff working on grounds keeping were very kind and helpful.
Overall, save some money and avoid this place. There are other nicer places with people that love what they do behind the desk.
nice campground but no pool
By far our favorite KOA stop on our trip from Texas to California. Our 4yr old didn't want to leave. Clean, friendly, and fun!!
Very nice, very accommodating. Everyone was friendly. Very clean except the laundry facilities. Great playground
I did not have reservations and I did not get to stay here. My rating is based on the fact that I could not get the staff to answer the phone or call me back. I did not have access to internet so I was left out in the cold once I made it to flagstaff and could not get them to answer their phone. I ended up paying an unbelievable amount of money for a crack hotel which was so bad I left without a refund and went on to my next stop, Winslow, AZ. I am not sure what event was happening in the area to have brought such a huge crowd, but I will be ok with never seeing Flagstaff ever again...
