Such a great experience paddling through this area. The waterways are narrow and shallow with LOTS of red mangroves. My dad struggled with his kayak while we did OK in a canoe.
Bring a GPS with you because navigation is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT! The NPS has installed white "trail markers" that were a life saver, but just one pole had fallen and it caused us to take an hour to find the next waypoint.
An excellent route, though. The chickees were a blast to camp on, too!
